Indicators with similar content have been merged, for example, indicator 7 (Screening and Recall) has been combined with indicator 13 (Cold Chain). Any duplication in the indicators or criteria has been removed. Some content has been re-arranged to improve the flow of an indicator. The focus on Māori health has been increased Training requirements are clearer. The guidance has been updated to reflect the changes and provide more information on areas practices found unclear or challenging.
The College has provided practices with the following information: Practices with expiration dates after 1 May 2022, will have their Smartsheets updated to the Foundation Standard 2022 version automatically by the end of January. Practices with expiration dates before 1 May 2022, will remain on the current version, unless they notify us. All practices transferred to the new version will still be able to access their previous Smartsheet until 1 May 2022, so that they can move any assessment comments and evidence across that they wish to. Access to the previous Smartsheet will be removed in May. Note: If practices opt to transition onto the Foundation Standard 2022 version, access will be granted to the Smartsheet in January 2022, and practices will be notified when this is available. However, before starting work on the updated version, the College recommends waiting until they can also access the updated Foundation Standard Guidance.
