rehabilitation system for clients, and improve rehabilitation outcomes.

There are opportunities to improve the experience for you, as well as for ACC clients, employers, and staff. To help ACC achieve this they are working through a design phase, focused on what they want the rehabilitation system to look and feel like, the key steps to get there, and the first steps needed to take. ACC are working closely with a group of providers from across the sector on this to ensure your views are represented (this includes the CEO of GPNZ and PHO representatives).

Alongside the high-level design work, ACC are testing some early improvements informed by what their clients, providers, employers, and staff have told them. These initiatives include: o Trialling improvements within their contact centre to make it easier for their team to support both clients and providers by resolving more of their queries at the first point of contact. o Testing ways to streamline processes and improve the quality of information they include when referring clients to providers for vocational services. o Testing ways to streamline processes and improve the timeliness in paying their clients their Weekly Compensation. o Testing a one-to-one approach for some of their new clients who are off work due to their injury. This will begin in mid-November and will initially be with a small group of staff in their Assisted Recovery teams.

These improvements will save time and effort for ACC clients, providers, employers, and staff, and improve service levels and client outcomes.

A further update will be provided on the high-level design and these early improvements and next steps in December.
