Top viewing for the weekend COVID-19 outbreak response ● An update on summer planning and the COVID-19 response was given at a media briefing last week by Director-General and lead of the Public Health Agency, Dr Andrew Old, Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health Chief Science Advisor Dr Ian Town and Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Interim National Medical Director Dr Pete Watson. ● Updated data and statistics about COVID-19 are published regularly on the Manatū Hauora website, including cases and demographics, sources of cases, testing, Māori and Pacific peoples’ data, trends and insights, vaccine data and other resources. For example, here is the latest COVID-19 trends and insights report, which was released last Friday.

Monkey Pox (MPX) ● An updated version of the ‘MPX (monkeypox) – clinical update’ document has been added to the MPX information for clinicians page on the Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health website. Expanded advice about isolating if you test positive for MPX has also been added Updated COVID-19 ● COVID-19 Care in the Community has updated the clinical antiviral clinical guidance guidance for COVID-19 antivirals and Primary Care COVID-19 and Primary Care COVIDQuick Reference Guide (both attached), and we will be grateful if 19 Quick Reference you can use these to inform your care from now on. These Guide documents will be available on the COVID-19 Advice for all health professional’s webpage. ● Key changes in the updated Primary Care COVID-19 Quick Reference Guide are as follows: o Predicted timings for symptom onset with Omicron o When to consider doing a PCR test o When to test asymptomatic people
