Pathlab Patient Services - Collection Rooms Change of Hours What’s changing? Katikati Collection Rooms From Monday 8th August, we will be reducing our Katikati Collection Rooms hours from 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) to 3 days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am to 4pm.
Weekend Services Effective Saturday 13th August 2022 there will be a reduction in our weekend services. Pathlab 2nd Ave Rooms (next to Accident and Healthcare), and Pathlab Mount Rooms (8 Grenada St) will be open alternate weekends between the hours of 8am 11.45am, starting with our 2nd Ave collection rooms on the 13th August, then moving to the Mount Collection Rooms (8 Grenada St) on 20th August, alternating from then onward for the interim (see attachment for rooms notices if you wish to display in your waiting rooms). Please be assured we do not make these decisions lightly and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause your patients.
Domiciliary/Home Visit Service In the past month we have seen a spike in the number of requests for home visits where patients have either informed our staff member, on arrival, they have already been to one of our rooms for their tests, or in numerous cases, are not at home. The home visits service is a huge pull on our already stretched resources and having a number of these requests which clearly fall outside the criteria for this service on a weekly basis is putting further strain on our team. We ask that all requests for a home visit are considered carefully and comply with our criteria (see attachment for home visit criteria). Please also ensure that any requests for a home visit have an accompanying lab request form either sent via eOrders or emailed, clearly indicating if this is a one-off visit or for regular repeat visits. Furthermore, requests for Home Visits for Covid Positive patients should be deferred until the patient is no longer testing positive. We thank you for your assistance and understanding.
