HOT TIP The NBSP pays the primary care provider to manage a positive FIT result. Managing a positive FIT result means that the patient has a conversation (in person or over the phone) with their health professional (Doctor or Nurse) who explains what a positive FIT result means. After that conversation the health professional makes a referral to us for colonoscopy or for information if the participant has elected to go private, declines a colonoscopy or is not suitable due to NBSP exclusion criteria.

colonoscopies Did you know that if the nurses within the practice have the authority to discuss results with patients then they can have the conversation with the patient about their positive FIT, instead of the GP. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact the BSP team on 0800 531 288.
