THEAIMOFTHISINITIATIVEISTOINCREASEWORKFORCECAPABILITYINPRIMARY CAREANDIMPROVEACCESSTOLARCS.
TheNewZealandCollegeofSexualandReproductiveHealth(NZCSRH)andTheRoyalNewZealand CollegeofGeneralPractitionersareworkingtogethertoprovidelong-actingreversible contraceptive(LARC)trainingsupport.
NZCSRHareproviding'Trainthetrainer'coursesinLARCproceduresforhealthpractitionerswho arecompetentintheseprocedures,aspertheLong-ActingReversibleContraception:Health PractitionerTrainingPrinciplesandStandardsandwhowanttotrainothers.
Uponcompletionofthetraining,yourpracticetrainer(s)canprovidetraininginLARCproceduresto othersinyourpractice.IfyourpracticemeetstheTeWhatuOrarequirementsbutcannotsenda participanttothistraining,fundingisavailableforaLARCtrainertovisityourpracticeandconduct traininginLARCprocedures.
Fundingisavailableforapproximately300high-needspracticesacrossNewZealand.These practiceswillbeadvisedthattheirfeehasbeencoveredbytheMinistryofHealth.
