Specialist services use Pharmac eligibility criteria to identify people who may benefit from Evusheld
Contact eligible people and assess whether they wish to receive Evusheld
GP team receives request from specialist service to administer Evusheld
GP team receives request from a person to administer Evusheld
If required, provide clinical assessment and/or prescription
Clinical assessment to confirm consumer is eligible and provide prescription
Identify where the consumer wishes to receive Evusheld i.e. in hospital setting or primary care
Relevant clinic letters checked to ensure person has not received Evusheld in secondary care
Community pharmacy dispensing records checked ensure person has not received Evusheld in primary care
Community pharmacy receives prescription and orders Evusheld from HCL
Hospital pharmacy dispenses Evusheld and arranges delivery, if required
Community pharmacy dispenses Evusheld and arranges delivery, if required
Evusheld administered by specialist service, outpatient clinic or other locally developed solution
Evusheld administered by primary care appointments or other locally developed solution
Specialist service uses the existing process for recording/notifying GPs about outpatient activities
Primary care uses their existing process for recording care. Community pharmacy dispensing will be captured via NZ ePrescription Service (NZePS).
Notes • People who self identify as being eligible may contact their specialist service or GP team directly to request Evusheld. • Adverse reactions need to be reported to CARM via existing processes. • Assessment in primary care can be virtual or in person. • Community pharmacies are to order Evusheld on an as required basis i.e. when they receive a prescription. • Ensuring Evusheld is stored appropriately during transportation following dispensing sits with the community pharmacy.
