be familiar with new and emerging indications for DOACs and how to use them for these conditions have an improved understanding of how to use DOACs in different populations (elderly, extremes of body weight, liver and renal disease, gastric bypass etc) know when to use combination antithrombotics, risks associated with this and how to minimise them
