Email from End of Life Choice Act implementation programme team, Ministry of Health 23 July 2021 The Ministry of Health is hosting a series of webinars for health professionals as part of its work to implement the End of Life Choice Act 2019. These webinars are for health professionals only. They may be of particular interest to health practitioners, including medical and nurse practitioners, who may choose to be involved in providing assisted dying services in New Zealand. Register for our webinar on Tuesday 3 August about whānau-centred end of life care Click here to register now for our August webinar on whānau-centred end of life care. The third webinar in our implementation series will explore what end of life care looks like when it is centred around whānau, and how this approach can be applied within assisted dying services. Dr Tess Moeke-Maxwell and Riana Manuel will be joining Dr Kristin Good, Chief Clinical Advisor at the Ministry of Health and an experienced GP, to discuss this topic. •

Dr Tess Moeke-Maxwell (Ngāi Tai ki Tamaki Makaurau, Ngāti Porou) is a Research Fellow and founding member of the Te Ārai Palliative Care and End of Life Research Group at the School of Nursing, University of Auckland. Riana Manuel (Ngati Pukenga, Ngati Maru, Ngati Kahungunu) is the Manukura Hauora (CEO) of Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki and Hauraki Primary Health Organisation. In 2014, Te Korowai Hauora o Hauraki piloted a community palliative care service to support Māori clients and their whānau through life limiting conditions.
