De-escalating Stressful Situations

This event will provide a range of practical tools and techniques that can easily be implemented in the workplace.

Two sessions available on:

Tuesday 1st August 2023 10am – 12pm OR 2pm - 4pm

At:

The Yacht Club, 90 Keith Allen Drive, Sulphur Point, Tauranga

Following the session attendees will:

o Know how to spot that a situation may be about to escalate.

o Learn how to respond early to avoid unnecessary escalation?

o Learn how you can make it easy for the patient to hear you when they are already stressed?

o Learn the importance of empathetic listening and how to do it well.

o Know what it really takes for a patient to feel heard and understood?

o Learn how to create safe boundaries while ensuring the patient feels in control?

o Learn physical techniques for creating a calm and safe environment in stressful situations.

o Learn simple techniques for ensuring your communication is clear and effective.

Cost is $35 per attendee to be invoiced by WBOP PHO post-event.

Maximum Attendance is 30 per session. Registration will close once capacity is reached. Any cancellations must be advised at least 48hours prior, otherwise payment will apply.
