Cultural Awareness Workshop Feedback
Top “takeaways” and feedback from participants
“ The course encouraged me to understand more about my own history and understanding of where I came from. Having a memorized Pepeha is very valuable.”
“ A true understanding of my pepeha and how to convey feeling, not just words. I also gained a greater appreciation for how all of te ao maori links back to the land and ancestors and how this drives their decisions nowadays.”
“Wiremu’s style is engaging, challenging but supportive, encouraging, fun, enthusiastic.”
“I really liked Wiremu’s facilitating style. Cool, calm and well organised. Very encouraging and quick to praise but not afraid to correct up in a positive way.”
“Loved Wiremu’s teaching style. He engaged us in a variety of teaching methods, whether that was writing, drawing, acting, singing, etc. I appreciated learning about te ao Maori in its entirety, rather than just one aspect of te ao Maori (e.g. just te Reo, or just tikanga) which is an extremely effective way to learn.”
