Vaccination Clinical Supervisor – role guidance About the position The vaccination clinical supervisor will work as part of a team that will deliver safe and effective service for the mass delivery of COVID-19 vaccines. The supervisor will be a qualified, registered healthcare professional. They will have ideally 2 years vaccine and immunisation healthcare delivery experience or equivalent recent healthcare experience that is relevant to the provision of the vaccination programme. The vaccination clinical supervisor will be responsible for the provision of supervision and direction for a team of COVID-19 vaccinators to safely and effectively administer the COVID-19 vaccine. It is expected that supervisors are not simultaneously responsible for any other roles or processes. In particular, the Vaccination Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for: Providing professional and clinical direction and guidance for a team of up to six (6) COVID19 vaccinators to safely and effectively administer the COVID-19 vaccine. Providing professional and clinical advice and guidance in a timely manner to facilitate care for the consumer. Immediately available for reasonable access when required by the COVID-19 vaccinators or consumers, i.e. must always be available on the premises. Maintaining high service delivery standards by using up to date knowledge, skills and ensures the team apply relevant local policies, IMAC guidelines and Ministry of Health standards and guidelines. Escalating queries and concerns beyond knowledge and scope to the appropriate site or clinical leads. Focusing on cultural needs and cultural safety of all individuals, family/whānau and community.

Provides evidenced-based supervision and direction to team of COVID-19 vaccinators
Will only supervise and direct a maximum of six (6) COVID-19 vaccinators at one time and will not be performing other roles within the vaccination site. Has knowledge and understanding of the training requirements, role and scope of a COVID-19 vaccinator and the service delivery models in which they can work.
