As part of National influenza-like illness (ILI) surveillance in sentinel general practices, a minor change is being made to the HealthLink supervised RAT form from 6 July 2022. The following question will display when ‘COVID-19 like symptoms’ is answered ‘Yes’: For ILI participating practices only: Do symptoms include a history of fever and cough? Yes/No. For practices participating in ILI surveillance, this field should be completed. For practices not participating in ILI surveillance, this field can be left blank.

Clinical guidance on testing for possible COVID-19 reinfections has been updated and now recommends individuals should take a rapid antigen test (RAT) if they develop new symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and it’s 29 days or more since their previous infection. The Ministry of Health is reminding employers that the text messages it sends to people who have tested positive with COVID-19 and their household contacts can be considered proof of needing time off work.

The latest CCCM update was released on Wednesday 29th June at 11.59pm and included: A Release Note reminder will be issued when logging into CCCM after a successful release. Ability to retrieve information from a person’s previous COVID-19 record when completing an initial assessment A warning message when attempting to save an action on a discharged record The Risk Score tool has been updated Audit Log more clearly shows what actions have occurred in a patient profile Whiteboard notes are fully visible when clicking them in the patient's record Ability to select up to three options in the Search and Filter option to filter records NCTS case notifications to GPs will only be triggered for higher risk patients A banner at the top of each record will indicate viewing a COVID-19 or Measles record A new Disease Type field has been added The NCTS app has been renamed to be contact tracing specific rather than COVID-19 specific These changes are detailed on CCCM support pages on Health Pathways and for more information, please contact CITC@contacttracing.health.nz

Further to last week’s second booster announcement, the Ministry of Health has updated its clinical criteria for priority groups and clarified eligible ages. The vaccine mandate for border and correction workers ended on 2 July.
