• 228,817 vaccinations have been administered in the Bay of Plenty

- 148,048 first doses

COMMUNITY PROVIDER ZOOM MEETING A weekly Zoom meeting for community providers is held every Thursday at 12:30 pm. This brief session, which runs for around half an hour, is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have. You will also get a chance to hear any updates about the district’s vaccination roll out.

CLINICAL HUB UPDATES The Clinical Hub continues to be updated with the most current information pertaining to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. As you know, it has been developed specifically for vaccine providers and primary care partners involved in the vaccination rollout and resurgence response. >> Access the Clinical Hub << Access to the Clinical Hub is private, and only those with a link can view its content. The BOPDHB COVID-19 Response Team recommends saving the link as a bookmark in your internet browser to refer to it regularly for new information.

IMAC COVID-19 CLINICAL IMMUNISATION TOOLKIT The Immunisation Advisory centre has developed a clinical toolkit that evolves alongside the vaccination programme. It will be updated every month, and contains reminders and advice for cold chain management, adverse events, and more.

You can view the toolkit under the “IMAC Resources” section on the hub.

FLOATERS IN VACCINE Over the past couple of weeks, there has been reports of flecks or floating debris in the vaccine vial or noticed in the syringe. Advice on what to do can be found on the “Clinical updates” section of the Clinical Hub.

TRAINING OPPURTUNITIES Training opportunities are being offered, as more sites across primary care start going live with immunisations and getting up and running using the CIR suite.

CREDO BINS The Ministry of Health is gently nudging providers to promptly return credo bins, as the vaccination rollout continues to gain traction. The Ministry has also alerted us to several overdue bins.

CIR AND BOOKMYVACCINE ENHANCEMENTS A Ministry of Health COVID-19 Vaccinator Alert on 20 September detailed security update enhancements for the CIR, and for the National Immunisation Booking System. An alert from September 16 notified enhancements for the CIR, and BookMyVaccine process. These updates are now live.

Both can be viewed on the “General communications and pānui” section of the Clinical Hub.

CONCOMITANT VACCINE ADMINISTRATION The Ministry of Health has confirmed the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at the same time, before or after most vaccines – with the exception of the Zostavax (Shingles) vaccine which needs a gap of seven days. This update will be included in the “Clinical Updates” section of the hub.

ANAPHYLAXIS, AND OTHER IMAC DOCUMENTS The Immunisation Advisory Centre has distributed documents about anaphylaxis, and extra relevant information. To view these, head to the “IMAC Resources” section of Clinical Hub.
