COVID-19 Alert: Delivering the COVID-19 vaccine at Alert Level 4 As you know, Aotearoa New Zealand entered COVID-19 Alert Level 4 at 11.59 pm on Tuesday 17 August 2021. On Wednesday, the Prime Minister announced that the COVID-19 vaccination programme would continue under Alert Level 4. You can safely continue the vaccine rollout by following additional Alert Level 4 guidelines, and we encourage you to recommence offering the vaccine to protect to our community. Ngā mihi nui BOPDHB COVID-19 vaccine team To assist you to safely offer the COVID-19 vaccine during Alert Level 4, please read the Level Specific Guidance for Vaccination v2.01 here. The key requirements for primary care providers continuing their COVID-19 vaccination programme during Alert Level 4 are: • People must be screened upon arrival to ensure: ◌ They are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, ◌ They are not waiting on a COVID-19 test result, and ◌ They have not been to a location of interest as per the current Ministry of Health locations of interest. » If a person answers ‘yes’ to any of the above, advise them to self-isolate and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453.People must sign or scan in using the NZ COVID Tracer app on arrival at the vaccinating venue. If you do not already have a NZ COVID Tracer QR code, you can create one here. • People must practice good hand hygiene on arrival, such as using hand sanitiser. Clinical staff must practice good hand hygiene between every moment. • People must wear a mask or face covering at all times, including staff and clients. In addition, vaccinating staff must wear face shields and eye protection at all times. • People must adhere to physical distancing of two metres at all times, apart from the actual vaccination event which should be as short as is safely possible. • Your vaccination site should have good ventilation, the ability to wipe down all services on a regular basis and, ideally, one way for the traffic of people to flow.
