Violet Davidson - Mental Health Team Social Worker WBOPPHO Violet accepts referrals for people who are presenting with mild to moderate depression and or anxiety, stress related situational circumstances that has been made worse by either, • • • • • •
medical problems losing a job family dynamics financial issues having a background history of mental health that’s been triggered by a significant event that’s happened. Those that are homeless or becoming homeless.
Violet triages her own referrals which can come • • • • •
via GPs nurses in GP clinics and schools counsellors at the schools, other providers working for the PHO. Nurses at Health and Wellness, and Tangata waoira who’s patients present with High Kessler 10’s from the lifestyle program.
The age group is 12 to 70 yrs old + Violet completes a psychosocial assessment, identifies what supports the person might be needing coming from a strengths base approach. She is then able to advocate on behalf of people and navigate them through to other services. These may include • • • • • • • • • • • •
Sage Papamoa family services Salvation Army MSD pathways, and assessment processes Family works Tautoko Mai Baywide for legal services Women’s refuge Grief counselling Te Puna Hauora Growing with seasons Family Link or Budget services
Violet also provides Mindfulness techniques, psychoeducation, Whare Tapa Wha approach, narrative counselling, Brief Intervention, Strengths based approach- solution focus. She is also able to See people in their homes if travelling to access services is a barrier to support.
