Applications open: Ako tahi hei whakapai ake I te kounga | Improving Together Advisor education programme 2022-2023 The Commission’s quality improvement science education programmes provide skills to address local improvement challenges and build the ability to draw on what is available nationally. Our education encourages the use of structured improvement methodology and tools, including measurement for improvement, providing skills to use both locally and nationally developed measures (like the system level measures). They are designed for an Aotearoa New Zealand health and disability context and incorporates Te Ao Māori principles to support the weaving of these principles through improvement activities across the sector. Following on from a successful pilot of the Improving together: advisors programme in 2021-2022, the Commission will deliver the programme in 2022-2023 and applications are now open. This programme will be delivered from October 2022 through July 2023.
Improving Together Advisor programme The Advisor programme is designed so that participants will gain expert knowledge and experience in the application of improvement science, methods and tools. The Commission has an expectation that through this course participants will be able to support the Commission’s improvement work locally and regionally and become part of the growing network of health care workers with improvement capability across Aotearoa New Zealand. Participants undertaking the programme will be expected to spend approximately 0.25FTE on course work, this includes designing, leading and delivering an improvement project that will allow them to apply the methods and tools they learn throughout the programme. It is expected that the participants employer or organization will support their participant(s) to develop an improvement project for the participant(s) to undertake that is in-line with organizational strategy and quality improvement goals. The programme consists of ten in-person workshop days to be held in Wellington, a total of 12 online (via Zoom) sessions, and course work outside the programme contact hours.
