Kia ora koutou, It's been not quite 18 months since we were last here in Alert Level 4. But this time, we have hindsight on our side. We know how to adapt and change to ensure we are still providing high levels of care to our patients, but in a way that protects our patients, and ourselves. We have communicated to the public that we are still open for business, and like last time, will be moving the majority of our appointments to phone or video consultations while the extent of the outbreak is investigated. I want to stress that your health and wellbeing is a priority during this time. In our profession, it is all too easy to put ourselves at the end of the queue. But we can't do our job properly and look after the health of our community if we aren't at the top of our game. Please look after yourselves. Support and resources are available for you and please use them if you need to. I want to thank you, once again, for being part of the essential service workforce, and playing your part in keeping our communities safe. As GPs we deal with uncertainty every day, we're trained for this. You're doing a fantastic job and it is appreciated by many.
Stay safe, Sam
