From: Angela Paul <Angela.Paul@health.govt.nz> Sent: Friday, 11 June 2021 5:18 PM Subject: Vaccine supply update for primary care peak bodies Kia ora koutou This email is to update you about the supply of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. We are ahead of schedule in the vaccine-roll out plan. There is sufficient supply of the Pfizer vaccine for district health boards to deliver half a million vaccinations as planned over the next five weeks. However, stocks will be tight for the next five weeks and we are carefully managing our way through. Even though this is a more tightly managed phase, DHBs will continue to administer more than 100,000 doses per week. This means we will administer more than half a million doses in the next five weeks. In comparison, it took us three months to deliver the first half a million doses. Please reassure your members that first and second doses of Group 1 and 2 remain a priority and we are keeping our Group 3 bookings at a steady rate for the next five weeks. As previously advised we are expecting people in Group 3 to be vaccinated or receive an invitation to be vaccinated before the end of July. We are preparing material to reassure the public about vaccine supply. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we manage the largest vaccination rollout in our history. (You may have received a similar message from one of your regular contacts within the Ministry – if so, we apologise for doubling up.)
