Claiming for Meningococcal B vaccinations The Meningococcal B vaccine administered to those at high risk of Meningococcal B disease has been funded from 1 July 2021. 1 July 2021: Entering on NIR and claiming for the immunisation service payment (immunisation subsidy) will need to be done manually until the Proclaim system and PMSs can be updated with this change. Entering on NIR - For all Meningococcal B ( Bexsero) vaccinations administered please complete an NIR3A form and send to you DHB NIR Administrator. NIRA form link: https://www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/pages/nir3aform_for_special_groups 30aug19.pdf Claiming vaccine administration fee( service payments) – Claims for payment will need to be sent manually by completing and submitting the “Immunisation Benefit Claims Details Form” https://www.health.govt.nz/new-zealand-health-system/claims-provider-payments-andentitlements/immunisation-subsidy Once systems have been updated: You will be able to complete these processes using your PMS systems as usual. Your PMS vendors will provide further information of how to manage entering and claiming for the meningococcal B vaccination on your PMS system Meningococcal B ( Bexsero) vaccine will be funded for the following people: • close contacts of meningococcal cases of any meningococcal group (e.g. A, C, W, Y or B), or • are at higher risk of meningococcal B disease because they: o o o o o o o
are pre- or post-splenectomy have functional or anatomic asplenia have HIV have complement deficiency, are pre- or post-solid organ transplant are post bone marrow transplant are pre- or post-immunosuppression.
