Cover email to primary care stakeholder organisations for distribution to general practice teams Kia ora general practice teams The Ministry of Health will be releasing a new feature to My Health Account (a Ministry service that helps people to create a digital health identity) later this week. The My Health Account team has been working with RNZCGP and GPNZ to make sure general practice teams are aware of the upcoming change and to provide materials to support both general practice teams and health consumers.

What you need to know about the new feature • Currently, some people are not able to upgrade their My Health Account to access My Covid Record and download a copy of their My Vaccine Pass as they do not have any of the documents needed to verify their identity.

• We want to help around 300,000 My Health Account holders who are in this position.

• The new feature will enable health consumers who are enrolled with a general practice team to use contact information already held on record by their general practice team to confirm their identity.

• To do this requires support from general practice teams around the country.

• Most people’s contact details will be up-to-date.

• For those people who don’t often visit their general practice team, they may need to get in touch with their general practice team to update their details.

Website content for relevant primary care sector organisations / general practice teams Change communications content for health consumers Updated content for health consumers will be posted on the Ministry’s website once the new feature is released:

1. Updated video clip: Your guide to using My Covid Record. The video will be updated to include information about the new pathway for health consumers to create a My Health Account using their healthcare provider a. Questions and Answers about My Health Account 3. Privacy Notice and Privacy Impact Assessment 4.
