Qualitative Fit Testing. General Practice Check List. Practice manager /practice lead to complete. Name____________ Preparation before the testing Arrange a booking suitable time and day with the PHO. Identify suitable staff- vaccinators, swabbers and persons undertaking respiratory assessment • No full facial beards or lateral facial hair. • Does not experience claustrophobia. • Can tolerate standing for a length of time. • Does not have a respiratory condition. All staff to be tested need 30 mins to complete this process. Arrange roster to accommodate. The fitting is one on one Ensure staff are familiar with donning and doffing a respirator mask and ensure you have sufficient masks. Staff have watched the ‘What to expect during a respirator fit test (quantitative and qualitative)’. At the time of testing Secure and provide a room for the testing, preferable with ventilation/window Box of Tissues Clock with a second hand
Following testing Complete Ministry of Health Fit Testing Declaration Form (for practice registration with the MOH). LINK if available The fit tester will provide a copy of the fit test record and details of those tested for audit and ordering purposes
