2021 PHO Forum Funding Practice engagement in PHO planning and implementation activity is key to the success of the PHO and PHO programmes. We are keen to continue creating opportunities for Practices to provide input into, and have influence over, PHO direction (clinical and non-clinical) on an on-going basis. We have been committed to identifying a multi-participation arrangement for the Forums and have now secured alternative premises that comfortably and reliably enable both in person and virtual participation. The Board recognises the value of Practice engagement and has again approved the six funded PHO Forums to continue in the 2021 calendar year. Forum dates for this year are Wednesday February 24, April 7, June 2, July 28, September 15, and November 3. The forum runs from 7 to 8.30 PM with nibbles and drinks available from 6.30 PM. Each meeting will have a headline topic presented for discussion and cover other items nominated by Practices and PHO staff around topics such as: what programmes are available and their implementation improving clinical quality and governance issues addressing inequity System Level Measures whole of system thinking Practices would be eligible for PHO Forum Funding as outlined in the table below. The Nurse Lead is defined as the most senior nursing staff member within a Practice, who has an influence across the practice and its nursing workforce. There is also funding available for those car-pooling from the Whakatane area at $50 per vehicle per meeting (only available for shared transport). As indicated above, online attendance via Zoom will be an option for this year’s forums and this form of attendance will count towards funding. There is no limit to the number of GPs from any one practice attending a PHO Forum meeting. We encourage active participation from all GPs and Practice Managers and the broader Practice Team. Please take care to sign in at the Forum events as this is the mechanism we have for tracking attendance. Ngā mihi
