Background – about the data • This dataset is for all people in New Zealand who are fully vaccinated but have yet to create a My Health Account (that allows them to gain access to My Covid Record and their My Vaccine Pass) • We have broken down the data so it can be viewed by DHB region and then by PHO

• Data is not available for the number of these people who do not have a cell phone number recorded with their enrolled general practice team • There is also no data available for the number of people who do have a cell phone number recorded with their enrolled general practice team but their number is out-of-date • The available data enables us to present a ‘worst case’ scenario for the number of health consumers who may contact general practice teams to update their contact details

Quantifying the impact on general practice teams For the 270,866 people who currently have a Level 1 My Health Account, the people who may actually contact the general practice team will be those who: • Receive the email from My Health Account letting them know there is a new way to complete their account set up, AND • Decide they want to go ahead and complete their account set up, AND • Actually go to the website and follow the process, AND • Discover that their mobile phone number details are out-of-date, AND

• Decide to contact their general practice team to update their details, AND • THEN follow through on the decision and actually call their general practice team

Our communications plan for health consumers who have not started to create a My Health Account • For those who have yet to create a My Health Account, we will not be running an active campaign to encourage health consumers to set up a new My Health Account using their healthcare provider.

• Health consumers will need to actively search for information on the Ministry of Health website or on the Unite Against COVID19 website to find these details.

• The only other way they may find out about it is by word-ofmouth from other health consumers.

Steps taken by My Health Account to minimise impact on general practice teams My Health Account will stagger the rollout of the email to the approx. 271,000 health consumers. We will do this by: • sending out the emails in batches - approx. 27,000 emails per day, Monday to Friday, over a two week period • randomising the email addresses selected on a daily basis so that the impact will be spread nationally and not impact specific geographic regions • not sending out emails over the weekend to prevent any ‘Monday morning surge’ at a general practice level from health consumers wanting to update their details
