West End Church of Christ Worship Minister Part-time paid position providing leadership to our Sunday morning gathering and special services throughout the year. GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the shepherds at West End Church of Christ and alongside the West End Leadership Team (staff, deacons, ministry leaders), the Worship Minister will prepare and lead our worship each Sunday morning. The Worship Leader will lead the continued development of the West End Praise Team and A/V Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Lead the congregation and praise team during worship service (10:00 – 11:00am Sunday Mornings) o Have a working knowledge of A/V sound system and slides o Work with preaching minister to maintain theme or topic of service throughout o Coordinate volunteers to fill Praise Team positions each week o Coordinate volunteers to fill A/V positions each week and prepare slide deck for service o Coordinate volunteers to fill service positions each week as needed (i.e. lead prayers, welcome, family matters, scripture readings) • Work with staff team o Attend Monday staff meetings – 10:30-12:00 weekly o Be available with flexibility to work remotely during the week • Staff Liaison to Spiritual Act of Worship Team o Entertaining ongoing suggestions regarding Sunday Morning Gathering o Utilizing the Spiritual Act of Worship Team to make recommendations to larger Leadership Team • Special Events / Services (i.e. Christmas Show, Christmas Eve Service, Camp WEBE) o Aid as needed in planning of special congregational services o Aid in the execution of special congregational services CHARACTERISTICS OF INDIVIDUAL • Promotes the Vision and Values of West End Church of Christ • Energetic leader • Reverent to God (Not Showy) • Member at West End o Present even when not “on the clock” o Committed to West End and its long-term kingdom growth • Ability to lead within our current dynamics but also harness a vision of our volunteers to lead us into the future • Desire to engage in the future of West End – makes decisions for the long-term sustainability and influence of the church
