A New Sermon Series

If You Really Knew Me, Part 1: Bottom of the Ninth Matthew 19:16-26 How’s it going? How are you doing? What’s your week been like? How often do we ask these types of questions to our friends and family and find contentment with answers like fine, good and busy. Our fast-paced culture has fostered surface-level relationship. During this series, we will explore how our relationships with God affects how deep our relationships go with others. There are people we interact with on a weekly basis — people we sit next to in our pews each Sunday—that leave the conversation thinking... “if you really knew me...“

Leanne and I have experienced nothing but overwhelming love since our official start date at West End. I am very grateful as there are an endless number of things to do and finding a new routine always presents its challenges. However, one of my favorite “new routine” items has been our weekly staff meetings. Every Monday at 10:15am, the staff team gather together to pray and plan for the work of this church. Our meeting agendas are always outlined in four categories: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Personal Integrity Vision / Strategy Teamwork / Communication Activity / Assessment

This design allows us to create action items around urgent items while, at the same time, move from working reactively to proactively. As we meet, I often point to the words on the front of our bulletin each week, “A Place to Belong.” Our church body desires every person to feel this sense of belonging. This means your perspective is not just valued, it’s vital to our vision. As I settle in and find a refreshed routine, I would invite you to come and ask questions, share your perspective or request prayer. I am always happy to share the things the staff team is working on and even work some suggested topics into our weekly agendas. I am finding the best times for me to chat are Mondays after 1:00 and anytime Wednesdays. Whether you are a member or first time visitor, feel free to schedule an appointment or simply drop in. This is a place to belong. ---Wes 
