Study Habits Part 5 — “Wandering Sheep” Matthew 18:10-14 Why? How? Where? What? — these are the questions we have discussed during our series, Study Habits. Here’s a quick recap:

Why: God and I desire relationship and the Bible is God’s most direct form of communication with me

How: Context clues including context of each scripture, context of my life and context of overall relationship

Where: Anywhere and everywhere, the Bible is a collection of books and God’s true library lives within each of those who believe in Jesus

What: The outcome of great study habits fosters our ability to Strengthen Faith, Show Love and Distinguish False Teachings

This morning we build on the answers to these questions as we discover how great Study Habits encourage less focus on ourselves and more focus on others. Our gatherings each Sunday morning take place at a building ideally located to welcome a diversity of people. People who are searching for a place to belong. As we draw some final conclusions from our series on Study Habits, here are two incredible opportunities to be “others” focused: 1. Inner City Monday Nights Derek Smith has worked with Inner City Ministry to make some intentional changes that will foster a growth centered experience for the kids as well as the adult volunteers. Find out more tomorrow night at the volunteer meeting. E-mail Derek with questions: smithbderek29@gmail.com 2. West End Neighborhood Trick-or-Treat Some of you may know that October 31 is a big day in the neighborhood around our church building. We will have many families parking in our parking lot and wandering the streets dressed in their Halloween best. Bobo Sitton has agreed to work with a group of our West End families interested in reaching out to these folks. We will have some special invitations to distribute. If interested, e-mail Bobo: jbsitton62@gmail.com Great Study Habits foster an “others focused” mentality. Take advantage of opportunities that help you be selfless.

Due to the privacy act it is sometimes difficult to get information regarding our members that are in the hospital, so if you have information regarding anyone on our sick list, please let the office know.
