TONIGHT - CLASSIC SERVICE AT 6:00 PM –
in the Community Room. Ken Dye will be leading the Devotional. Communion will be offered for all those who were unable to partake on Sunday morning. Tom Seals’ class will meet tonight in the Conference Room from 6:00 – 7:00 TONIGHT. The class is studying “Genesis: Revelation Of Grace”. The Biblical message of Genesis is that God is actively seeking to draw Humanity to Himself. Come and join us on Sunday evenings and see Divine Grace working to overcome human rebellion with it attendant alienation, suffering, and death. Anyone interested in attending is welcome!
A Note of Encouragement from Wes WE | Fall Classes — make plans to be here! I typically use this section to write some supplemental narrative in regard to the message each week. As a great supplement to “Study Habits" and upcoming sermon series, I want to strongly urge you to make plans to participate in our new classes this fall.
Sunday Mornings: Beginning September 6, we are asking the whole church family (Youth Group through Keenagers :) to participate in our special Sunday Morning Discipleship Classes. Whether you have been visiting our church, attending another class or roaming the halls (you know who you are :), you are in for a “limited time only” treat! On September 6 @ 9:00am (be on time), we will all meet together in the auditorium for a “Discipleship Class Kickoff” facilitated by me and Leanne. At the kickoff, we will outline the intentionality of these classes and foster some great discussion. For the rest of the quarter, the men will continue meeting in the auditorium and the women will meet in the community room. Be on time and sit up front — this will be tons of fun! Wednesday Nights: Wednesday night meals will begin back on September 16! I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for all that Paula Wilson and her crew have cooked up (pun intended :). We will start our new Wednesday Night Round Table Discussions on September 2, two weeks before the meals resume.

She is currently at Richland Place Health Ctr. for rehab, room 228. Former member and brother-in-law of Rudie Smith, Vic Batson, is recovering from hip replacement surgery at home in Florence, Alabama. Lynn Doramus, Libby Massie’s daughter, is receiving treatment for cancer. Please continue praying for Bryan Britt, who is married to Barbara Craig’s niece, Jenna. His address is 8 Hunters Creek Drive Jackson, TN 38305. Buddy McKenzie, Amanda McKenzie’s father-in-law, is recovering from 2 surgeries. He had lung cancer surgery and also surgery to remove a kidney (stage 3 cancer). He and his wife live in Trenton, GA. Jane-Elise Thomas requests prayers for the Compton family. Their teenaged son, Wyatt, has been severely affected by meningitis and has been dealing with its ravages for years. The family requests prayers for peace and for acceptance of the future. They wish for Wyatt to be pain free and comfortable for his last few months. Lila Duncan, 2 year old niece of Clay & Lauren McCluggage, is having chemo every 3 weeks during the Summer. Sarah Garrett requests prayers for Talan Barnhill-Williams the 8 yrs. old son of Ashley Barnhill who is a friend of Sarah. Talan has Ewing’s Sarcoma and is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.

LADIES of West End. . . It is time to begin Secret Sister 2015 and you are invited to participate! Secret Sister provides a great opportunity to grow closer to and encourage other women at West End. Secret Sister Questionnaires are available on the table outside the auditorium for you to fill out and return by Sunday, SEPTEMBER 6th. Shortly thereafter, you will find out who your Secret Sister is. We will exchange cards, notes, gifts, encourage and uplift our Secret Sisters in prayer until our Secret Sister Reveal Dinner tentatively scheduled for Tuesday December 1st at 6 PM in the parlor. A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers will be used as a resource for the study. Harriette Shivers will lead the class in September; and Karen Ewing, in October and November. After our first class on 9/15 all ladies are invited to a luncheon at the home of Cecelia VanDyke.
Help is needed with chopping, mixing, serving, etc., as well as cleaning.
