Sermon Notes

Study Habits Part 1, “Back to School” 2 Timothy 2:14-16 You’ve come to West End Church of Christ on a great Sunday! In addition to our desire to communicate a strong message about Jesus every Sunday, today is extra special for two reasons:

1. Back to School Blessing We will be praying prayers of blessing over all those headed back to school. One of the values that drives our church family is passing faith on to the next generation. This morning, our prayer is that our children will be positioned to live out this faith at their schools. We want them to grow in both their education and in their desire for Jesus. Our prayer will be that our children and our parents seek the Joy of the Lord in both the good times and bad brought on by this new school year.

2. Part 1 of a new Sermon Series: Study Habits A second value that we seek to instill within our church family is personal bible study. We live in a world where all of us have direct access to God’s Holy Word. We all have the ability to carry a Bible anywhere we go. Some of us even have the ability to carry multiple translations in our pockets. There was a time in #HISstory (sermon series throwback) where this was far different. Peopled walked in rough conditions for long periods of time just to hear the Word of God read to them. Today we will introduce this new series by asking the question, “Do we as individuals value the ability to have personal bible study?” Today we pray for our students and their study habits as it relates to a new school year. Our prayer will also be for our own study habits as it relates to individual spiritual growth. We are glad you are here and look forward to sharing in this special day.

Keep Them in Your Prayers Due to the privacy act it is sometimes difficult to get information regarding our members that are in the hospital, so if you have information regarding anyone on our sick list, please let the office know.
