Welcome to West End Church of Christ, a restoration church founded in 1929. Each Sunday morning, our family opens its doors to be reminded that our value of Jesus is derived from the value of our brokenness. We are a broken people living in a broken world in need of a Savior.
Our vision: A Place To Belong We believe everyone, no matter their background, is created to belong to the kingdom of God.
Our values: diversity embracing unique differences and experiences strengthens our family
generational roots discipleship that builds on our past and for the sustainable future
grace in love how we treat one another especially in times of disagreement and conflict
personal bible study ownership through study and prayer of our own individual spiritual growth
Thank you for joining our family and know that there is a place for you here. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Our church is blessed to have a Visitation Team that meets the third Tuesday of each month. Jan Welden and Kris Thurman currently serve as the leads for this team. Each month, the team gathers to pray over the needs and concerns of our church family. Individual cards (similar to those outlined on this page) are distributed to ensure a visit or a note of encouragement is received from someone on the team. An open invitation is extended to anyone who would like to serve on the visitation team. This is a group exemplifying our church value of grace in love. You can e-mail Jan or Kris for more details.
you belong here Ephesians 2:14-19 What does it mean to belong? To what groups / organizations do you belong and why? These are questions that require us to take a moment of margin to think about where we are and how we got here. Whether a long-time member or first time guest, you could not have picked a better day to be a part of our Sunday morning gathering. We are beginning a new series titled “a place to belong.” This series is focused on a study of Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus. As we walk through Ephesians, we will also discover elements of a refreshed vision for our church family. As we study and pray over the next two months, it is important to remember our goal is that the Holy Spirit will grant us greater emphasis to concepts that Jesus introduced to the world long ago — many of these concepts which have existed at West End since its inception in 1929. For any given people or entity over time, a refreshed vision based on core values has afforded the ability to:
introduce innovation while preserving tradition embrace diversity while asserting commonality affirm beliefs without rejecting those who doubt foster faith in the God-breathed Scriptures without sacrificing critical scholarship
A place to belong is our collective vision. A collective vision that expresses itself through the values of diversity, grace in love, generational roots and personal bible study. A sense of belonging is the human emotional need to be an accepted member of a group. Whether it is family, friends, co-workers or a faith movement, humans have always had an inherent desire to belong and be an important part of something greater than themselves.
Its implications include a relationship that is greater, deeper, more transparent and more intimate than simple acquaintance or familiarity. It is a relationship with one’s creator. It makes no distinction on an individual’s background — where they grew up, culture, race, family dynamics, mental or physical capacities. It is for all and makes all who choose to be a part one in the Spirit through Christ. Paul extols the Ephesians by telling them they are now one. They have all been chosen, predestined, accepted, redeemed, informed, made heirs and sealed by the Creator of the heavens and earth. That message continues to resonate from the generations of the past to the generations of the future. . . YOU BELONG HERE. You belong to the kingdom of God through Christ Jesus our Lord. May the Spirit of God be with us throughout this critical series.
