EXPLORER FEATURES
Diario: The authors highly recommend that students keep a journal to record class notes, answers to activities, reflections, and questions they may have. The diario personal icon appears frequently throughout the student text. The teacher has many options that may include an interactive journal, to provide feedback and comment on students’ progress, or an online journal that the teacher and student can access. The journal also serves as a portfolio in the sense that it shows student progress over time.

Organization and features of Tejidos Explorer (Guía digital)

The Wayside Publishing Tejidos Explorer (Guía digital) is an integral component of the Tejidos program providing access to a variety of support materials such as interactive quizzes and further scaffolding for activities. Explorer also includes forums where students can participate in interpersonal writing and speaking activities, as well as links to authentic materials, extension activities, online resources, and rubrics. There is an additional Hilo Digital (Población y demografía, Manta: Desafíos mundiales) not present in the student text. RECURSOS: Students and teachers will be able to take full advantage of the endless Web 2.0 resources available in Tejidos Explorer. Each hilo of Explorer contains the following items accessible to both students and teachers: Audiovisual materials Scaffolding for some activities in each hilo Vocabulary practice, which includes quizzes, flash cards, and matching Contextualized grammar activities Additional activities such as discussion forums and open-ended questionnaires Final evaluation/summative assessment support such as specific criteria and checklists Additional useful links Rubrics: “I can do” rubrics, holistic & analytic in all communication modes Maps of the Spanish-speaking world Generic graphic organizers such as the Y-chart and Facebook Message/Comment Blank black and white and color maps of Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean PDFs of Spanish-Spanish, Spanish-English, and English-Spanish glossaries
