Introducing EdSights
EdSights is a student chatbot that empowers students by giving them a voice and the support they need to navigate college life. The mission of EdSights is to build a studentcentered higher education system where every student’s voice shapes the learning environment of tomorrow. By supporting students in timely, efficient, and meaningful ways, we aim to enhance the return on their investment in education. Waynesburg University will launch this chatbot during the new student orientation, with messages coming from our mascot, Sting!
Sting is a behaviorally smart SMS chatbot that checks in with our students about their experience at Waynesburg University and provides resources for any challenges they may be facing In addition, you can think of Sting as a "Siri" built for WU, in that it can answer questions about us
We are bringing Sting to life as an SMS chatbot as a way for us to support students, answer their questions, and communicate important information throughout the school year It is also a great way for Sting to hear student feedback and create a virtual community!
How can Sting help our students?
Reactive:
Responds 24/7 to any student-initiated questions about Waynesburg University How do I apply for scholarships?" to "What are the hours of the counseling center?"
Proactive:
Initiates conversations with students every 7-10 days to understand any issues that they are facing. From their sense of belonging to working a full-time job outside the classroom, these conversations aim to connect them to resources and staff members available at Waynesburg University to help
