ADMISSIONS
PROCESS GUIDE The process of searching for and eventually choosing a college can be a long, unfamiliar one, especially for families who haven’t been through it before. This sheet is a step-by-step guide that will take you from the early stages of your search all the way to officially becoming a student at Waynesburg University.
1 VISIT CAMPUS
Visiting campuses is a vital part of the college search process. At Waynesburg, you can set up a visit during the week or attend one of our already scheduled Saturday Open Houses. This gives you the opportunity to tour campus with a current student, meet with a faculty member and/or coach and hear from an admissions counselor.
2 APPLY
Apply for free online at waynesburg.edu/apply. The three components we will need before we can process your application are the application, an official high school transcript with senior class schedule, and SAT and/or ACT scores. Preference is given to students who have college preparatory curriculum, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and a 980 on the SAT (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math only) or 19 on the ACT (composite).
RECEIVE AN ADMISSION 3 DECISION
Students who are accepted into Waynesburg University will receive an official letter in the mail. Those who qualify for an Achievement Award will be notified of it within that acceptance letter.
4 FILE THE FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be filed at fafsa.gov any time after Oct. 1 and determines if a student qualifies for institutional grants, federal grants and/or loans, state grants, and/ or the Federal Work-Study program. Pennsylvania residents should complete this by no later than May 1 to be eligible for any type of state aid.
EXPLORE ADDITIONAL 5 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
To be eligible for additional scholarships, all students are encouraged to complete their application for admission by Nov. 1. For more information on these scholarship opportunities, including the qualifications, please visit scholarships.waynesburg.edu.
