In her spare time, Wilcox has enjoyed several jaunts with tour groups led by Ailene Friday of Stanley. Before each trip, Wilcox knits dozens of colorful dish cloths which she gives to fel-
low travelers. She also carries cloths and gives them to folks when she first meets them. Like many people with the heart of a servant, Wilcox doesn’t seek but deserves some recognition. As Haynes puts it- “Linda Wilcox is a very prominent lady in McAdenville. She has been overlooked for what she does for her community.” Good job, Linda. Keep up the good work.

During the sentencing, several members of Herndon’s family, including his father Mark Herndon, addressed the court. “The pain is unimaginable,” he said. But out of the tragedy came strength. Tributes to Herndon poured into the MHPD from all over the nation. His name lives on in the beautiful Law Enforcement Memorial at Mt. Holly’s Municipal Complex. His name Mt.
