The former “Trippin In London” frontman includes different aspects, like influences of his travels or of the 1960ies or 70ies rock’n’roll, in his soloproject. His sound is a mix out of loud, sassy surf, poetic lyrics and a romantic touch.

In ihren Songs erzählt sie Geschichten über ungeschriebene Bücher, leere Leinwände und Schatzkisten. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, Eloui decided to switch from brushes to instruments and released her first album “Chasing Atoms” in 2011.

In her songs she tells stories about non-written books, empty canvases and treasure chests.

The present population of Israel comes from more than 100 countries from five continents. This cultural diversity and artistic creativity enriches the Israeli society and is also reflected in the very diverse music scene, which converts the different influences by appropriation and re-interpretation.

Doch auch die elektronische Szene ist stark vertreten. So erschafft der Künstler Ori Alboher aka Ori mit seinem einzigartigen Sound ein Genre zwischen Elektronik, R’n’B, Pop und Ambient, das sein Publikum mittels purer Stimme in eine verzaubernde, kontrastreiche Klanglandschaft entführt. Auch seine Kollegin Totemo überzeugt mit kristallklarer Stimme. Die Sängerin und Produzentin hat sich mit ihrem unkonventionellen, aber ansprechenden Sound in der aufstrebenden Elektronik-Szene von Israel bereits einen Namen gemacht. eim diesjährigen Waves Vienna erhält das Publikum einen kleinen Einblick in die Vielfalt der aktuellen deutschen Musikszene – Achtung, Tanzgefahr! Für Rakede Fans längst kein Unbekannter mehr, zeigt Affe Maria ausufernde Klangästhetiken inkl. Drive & Druck. Unter dem schrägen Namen Blockflöte des Todes bringt ein ehemaliger Kirchenorganist nun als Singer/Songwriter das Publikum mit seinen Texten zum Schmunzeln. „DADA DISCO“ nennen die Jungs von Golf ihren Sound aus anspruchsvollen Texten, Elektro-Pop und groovy Rhythmen. Gute Bekannte innerhalb der Musikszene sind Bonaparte und Kid Simius.

Im Rahmen des Waves Festival präsentieren sie erstmals in Österreich ihr gemeinsames Projekt Mule & Man. Die Düsseldorfer von Stabile Elite zeigen uns ihre Synthesizer-Kreationen mit einem ganz individuellen visuellen Konzept. Und Elektro-Pop sowie analoge Livemusik bestimmen den Sound der Band Vimes, der trotz vieler Einflüsse nicht überladen klingt – that’s music made in Germany!

Bonaparte and Kid Simius have for sure already found their place in the music scene. At this year’s Waves Festival they’ll present their joint project Mule & Man for the very first time in Austria. The Düsseldorf based band Stabile Elite will show their sound creations out of synthesizers and an individual visual concept. And a mix out of Elektro Pop and analogue live music, that’s how the Vimes create their sound, which never appears to be overloaded despite the high amount of influences – music made in Germany!

egonnen wird der Abend mit der Klosterneuburger Band Grant, die mit erzählerischem Talent und musikalischem Können ihre Kreationen aus Balkan-Pop, Westcoast-Funk und eingängigem Gitarren-Pop präsentiert. Danach folgt das Indie-Pop-Trio Kafka Tamura, dessen Klangbild durch pulsierende Beats, Gitarren, Klavier und Gesang geprägt ist. Mit seiner Formation LFNT erzählt der Rock ’n’ Roll Troubadour Ran Nir Geschichten über Whiskey und flüchtige Notizen. Maarten Devoldere kennen manche als Frontman der belgischen Band Balthazar. Im Rahmen des diesjährigen Festivals präsentiert er sein Soloprojekt Warhaus zum ersten Mal in Österreich. Im Anschluss tritt das in Kopenhagen ansässige Produzenten-Duo Smzer auf, das mit seinem melodischen und fesselnden Klang zu einem der heißesten Elektronik-Gigs der letzten Jahre wurde. Den Abschluss bilden die heimischen Elektro-Heroes Powernerd.

he starter of the night will be the Austrian band Grant with their fascinating sound mixture out of Balkan Pop, Westcoast Funk and Guitar Pop. Afterwards the Indie Pop trio Kafka Tamura will present their mix out of pulsing beats, guitars, piano and vocals. With his band LFNT the Rock ’n’ Roll troubadour Ran Nir is telling stories about whiskey, quick notes and his thoughts. Some of you might know Marteen Devoldere as front man of Balthazar. At this year’s festival he will present his solo project Warhaus for the first time in Austria. Right after Warhaus, the Copenhagen based duo Smerz will get on stage presenting their melodic and captivating electronic sound. Last, but not least Austrian hot shit 80ies-Elektro band Powernerd will give one of their awesome performances.

in fast klassischer Abend für das Paralleluniversum von Salon 2000, einen der wichtigsten Donnerstag-Clubs Wiens, könnte man meinen, jedoch in einer neuen Location – die Palme im Keller des Café Weimar. Mit dem Hauptaugenmerk auf heimischen Acts, denen keine Genre-Grenzen gesetzt werden, kann so ein Donnerstag schon mal etwas ausarten.

Man kann gespannt auf das Line-Up sein, denn Salon 2000 schafft es immer wieder, passionierten Musikfans ein breites Spektrum an überraschenden und fordernden Live-Sets sowie ausgelassene Partys zu bieten! Im Rahmen der Noisey Night präsentiert Salon 2000 bei Waves Vienna B. Visible, Mosch (Duzz Down San), Hanna (Impulstanz), Jarus (Salon 2000) und Jumbie (Salon 2000).

iese Kooperation ist nicht weiter verwunderlich: Sowohl die Red Bull Music Academy als auch das Waves Festival haben sich dem Entdecken und Aufzeigen talentierter MusikerInnen verschrieben. Neben dem bloßen Präsentieren steht bei beiden vor allem die Unterstützung und Förderung dieser Talente im Vordergrund.

Holy Fuck, die experimentellen Rocker aus Kanada, überraschen nicht nur mit ihrem stampfenden Sound, sondern vor allem durch ihre unorthodoxen Instrumente.

Gemeinsam bieten wir eine internationale Plattform für KünstlerInnen rund um die Welt, um einander kennenzulernen und sich auszutauschen, um sich zu vernetzen und voneinander zu lernen.

er Schweizer Diktator ohne Grenzen, Tobias Jundt, bringt mit seinem Elektro-PunkZirkus-Kollektiv Bonaparte seit zehn Jahren frischen Krawall à la „Anti Anti“ und „Into the wild“ auf die Bühne und in die Charts. Der junge Produzent Kid Simius aka José Antonio Garcia Soler sorgt seit 2010 in der Berliner Szene für Furore, unter anderem mit „Lila Wolken“ und seinem Album „Wet Sounds“. Jetzt machen sie gemeinsame Sache und stellen am 30. September

„Wir hatten keinen Bandnamen, und wir hatten keine Erwartungen. Niemand wusste, dass wir uns fast jeden Tag trafen.“ 2016 im Rahmen des Waves Festival ihr Projekt „Mule & Man“ mit der ersten EP „One Hand Clap“ vor.

Heimlich, jedoch sicher nicht still und leise, jammten und werkelten die zwei Vollblutmusiker an dem laut Jundt „ergebnisoffenen“ Projekt, bis mit knapp 20 Stücken innerhalb eines Jahres doch recht eindeutig klar wurde: Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem sonstigen Gewohnheitsalleinherrscher und dem charmanten Backenbartträger harmonisierte derart gut, dass sogar auf die sonst bei beiden so präsenten Gitarren verzichtet wurde. Für Jundt war es erfrischend,

Labelled from Jundt as “unbiased as to the result”, the project soon turned out to be a success, producing no less than 20 songs within one year. The collaboration between the accustomed autocrat and the charming 41

Dass die 5 Musiker, die sich in ihrer Wahlheimat Wien gefunden haben, in verschiedenen Spannungsfeldern agieren, beweist das letzte Jahr: gemeinsame Tour mit UK Soul-Act KWABS und Electronic Soul-Duo HONNE, Nova Jazz Auftritt vor CHIC feat. Die Band arbeitet an ihrem Debütalbum welches 2017 erscheinen wird. The American background of Singer Robert Summerfield who’s roots lie in Chicago & Michigan melt together just perfectly with his European way. His smooth soul vocals are always in contrast with the beat-heavy and the playful instrumentals which makes it just a perfect fit.

The five musicians met in their adoptive city Vienna and have been on tour with acts like UK soul acts KWABS and electronic soul duo HONNE or played headline shows at Nova Jazz or the Reeperbahn Festival. Robb are working on their debut album, which will be released next year.

Die sanften Töne seiner Akustikgitarre setzen seine soulige Tenor-Stimme perfekt in Szene und überzeugen so nicht nur Hörer, die ihrerseits (genauso wie er) mit den tiefenentspannten Vibes von Ikonen wie Ben Harper, Bob Dylan oder Paul Simon aufwuchsen. Nach seinem gefeierten Aufrtitt beim SXSW ist Matt nach Berlin gezogen und arbeitet dort an seinem Debütalbum, das 2017 erscheinen soll. igentlich kennt man ihn als eine Hälfte des Duos Andi & Alex, das schon seit Jahren die heimische Elektronik-Musikszene kräftig aufmischt. Mit seinem Solo-Projekt öffnet der Oberösterreicher nun die Grenzen zwischen verschiedenen Genres: fröhlicher ElectronicPop mit Ohrwurmpotential! Als Alex The Flipper kreiert er seinen eigenen Synths-geladenen Sound, in den er vielfältige Strukturen einbaut.

Auf Spotify kann sein Hit „Patty“ bis jetzt bereits über zwei Millionen Plays verzeichnen, und Ende Juli 2016 brachte er seine neueste EP „Wonder” heraus. Wir dürfen mehr als gespannt sein, was uns Alex The Flipper als nächstes zu hören geben wird.

e is well-known as one half of the Upper Austrian duo Andi & Alex, which has been part of the Austrian electronic music scene for years. With his solo project the young producer now opens borders between different genres of music, creating a jolly electronic pop with catchy tune potential. As Alex The Flipper he combines different structures with more synths for his sound. His tune “Patty” was played on Spotify already for two million times, and at the end of July 2016 he released his latest EP “Wonder“. For now we all can be very curious what Alex The Flipper will be giving to us next.

ls Starter des Showcase tritt die Luzerner Formation Rival Kings auf die Bühne. Mit ihrem Mix aus New Wave und Pop-Rock bringen sie die Ottakringer Stage zum Beben. Weiter geht’s auf der Skip Stage mit der Rockband The Souls, die dort das Publikum mit ihrem leicht melancholischen Sound begeistern wird. Nach einer kurzen Erholungspause machen wir uns auf den Weg ins WUK Foyer: Dort finden wir Klischée auf der Bühne, die Elemente aus Blues, Funk, Afro-Pop, Chanson, House mit einer Prise Swing, Rap und Trap zu einem neuen Bild elektronischer Musik kombinieren.

Zum Abschluss geht’s dann ab in die Palme hosted by Jameson. Dort servieren DJ Ruff und DJ Invincible feinste Tunes bis in die frühen Morgenstunden. Wir sehen uns am Dancefloor!

he starter of the Showcase is the band Rival Kings from Lucerne. With their sound out of New Wave and Pop they’ll rock the Ottakringer Stage. Next stop: Skip Stage. The band The Souls is going to excite the audience with their blue rock sound. After a short break we’ll hit the road to the WUK Foyer, where we’ll find Klischée on stage. With their combination out of Blues, Funk, Disco, House, Afro-Pop, Chanson, a touch of Swing, Rap and Trap they’ll present namely a new level of electronic music and notorious live shows.

At the end of the evening we’ll stop by the Palme hosted by Jameson, where we’ll find DJ Ruff and DJ Invincible behind the turntables. They’ll provide us with finest tunes till the morning light. See you on the dancefloor!

ie fünf jungen Oberösterreicher starteten ihr gemeinsames Projekt FLUT im Januar letzten Jahres, nachdem die Bandkollegen Johannes M. Paulusberger sowie Sebastian und Florian Voglmayr bereits 2014 mit der Band Frazin Bake für Furore gesorgt hatten sorgten.

Nach absolvierter Matura und mit den neuen Mitgliedern Jakob und Manuel begeistern die Musiker nun mit einem neuen Stil, der deutlich entschleunigt, aber auch elektronischer geworden ist. „In einer spiegelglatten Gegenwart kann ein Anker in der Vergangenheit zur Weiterentwicklung von etablierten Mustern leiten“, beschreiben die Jungs von FLUT ihren neuen Zugang. Tragende Synthesizer-Klänge, balancierende Gitarrenmelodien und anfangs zarte, später in mächtige Schlagzeug-Sounds transzendierende Drum-Machines bilden neben verzerrten Vocals in deutscher Sprache die Rezeptur für ihren Sound in 80er-JahreÄsthetik. Das ist auch bei ihrer letzten Single „Tiefschlaf“ zu hören, die sich langsam, aber beständig bis zu ihrem Höhepunkt steigert und so dem Bandnamen gerecht wird.

he five young Upper Austrians launched their joint project FLUT in last year’s January after band mates Johannes M. Paulusberger and Sebastian and Florian Voglmayr have already turned heads with their band Frazin Bake in 2014. Following their graduation and with Jakob and Manuel as new members of the band, the musicians now present a new style, which decelerated significantly, but also features more electronic elements. „In a plain present, an anchor in the past can lead to the enhancement of established patterns“, they explain their new approach. Synthesizer melodies, balanced guitar harmonies and mighty drum sounds in addition to the distorted vocals in German are their recipe for their distinctive 80ies sound.

Their latest single “Tiefschlaf” represents all of that by starting smooth and slowly, but with resistance building up the climax, living up to their band name.

röffnet wird der Label-Abend durch das Trio Lausch mit ihrem einzigartigem AlternativeSound, der durch Post-, Alternative- und 90iesRock-Einflüsse geprägt ist.

Eine gute Balance zwischen Musikern und Publikum während der Performance, das steht für Milk+ an erster Stelle. Ihr fetziger Progressive Space-Rock wird durch Elemente des Rock und Jazz geprägt. Im Anschluss präsentieren sich die Jungs von Parasol Caravan mit ihrem Blues/ Psychedelic-Rock und Heavy-Metal-Sound und beweisen, dass selbst diese Genre-Kombination hervorragend klappt.

Den Abschluss bildet Matt Boroff. Wenn man bei diesem Bandnamen vermutet, dass es sich um einen Solokünstler handelt, liegt mal absolut falsch!

Es handelt sich um drei Musiker, die gemeinsam ein imposantes Klangbild aus geladenem Rock und Blues-Elementen zaubern.

he starter of the night is the trio Lausch with their unique alternative sound, created out of post-, alternative-, classical 90ies rock, a bit of progressive rock and strong lead vocals. Communication between musicians and audience is on top priority for the band Milk+. In their sound the combine progressive space rock with elements of rock and jazz.

Then the Linz based band Parasol Caravan with their mix out of blues-, psychedelic-rock and heavy metal take ove the stage. The four guys demonstrate that this combination of different styles works out very well.

Even if the band name sounds like a solo artist, behind the project Matt Boroff there is trio. In this project they produce together a combination out of powerful rock and elements of blues.
