The inaugural Pride in Trafford took place in 2019, with a strong commitment to diversity, telling stories and celebrating artists, many of which are often underrepresented.
Pride 2023 will again celebrate IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia & Transphobia) on Wed 17 May with the raising of the Progress Pride Flag on Waterside Plaza. There will be an exciting programme of arts and cultural events by and for the LGBTQ+ community. We hope to see you there!

COSGROVE HALL FILMS ARCHIVE
Waterside is extremely proud to be the custodians of the Cosgrove Hall Films Archive. Cosgrove Hall was founded in 1976 and became the UK’s largest animation house producing quality animation by bringing together some of the biggest talents, puppetmakers, actors and animators in the UK.
The internationally acclaimed animation collection contains some of the best-loved children’s characters of the twentieth century, including Danger Mouse, Postman Pat, Wind in the Willows, The BFG, Chorlton & the Wheelies and many more. Waterside have housed the archive since 2017 our role has been to house and preserve the collection.
You can now visit the Cosgrove Hall Films Archive online and learn about model-making and animation materials by exploring some of your favourite characters in 3D.
Using photogrammetry we have been scanning some of the most vulnerable materials in our collection in 3D. As these models degrade over time, we will now have a permanent record of the original sculpt.

Creative Industries Trafford Development Award Exhibition

Ceramic artists Isobelle Hayes and Carlie Smith exhibit work alongside cast concrete artist Sophie Attridge and multidisciplinary artist Grainne Williams. All four makers are inspired by aspects of their own environments, from the Brutalist architecture of 1950s social housing, to digging and processing wild clay from their land.
