The group of artists, designers and technologists started at 2014’s Digital Performance Weekender, and now has over 50 members. This year’s event includes topical discussion around technologies and hands-on workshops, plus a demonstration of participants’ current work.

Ever fancied taking a virtual reality adventure? Now’s your chance! Don a virtual reality headset and backpack and off you go, exploring another world while your feet stay in West London. Drop-in and try it out – trips take 25 minutes.

A special and very different double bill. Top upand-coming choreographer Alexander Whitley’s The Measures Taken was commissioned by The Royal Ballet’s studio programme and is shown here as a short, kinetically charged and beautiful solo adaptation. Afterwards, quirky artists and musical technologists perform in an interactive and fun show with hacked, DIY and handmade instruments. Previously seen at the Barbican Hack the Barbican DIY arts project in 2013 and at the TATE turbine hall.

SEQUENCE – INSTALLATION AND VIRTUAL REALITY DEMONSTRATION

microbiologists and other scientists, this work explores the nature of the human genome sequence. Dumitriu’s work is permanently installed at The Eden Project and has recently been show at the Digital Design Weekend at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The Virtual Reality demonstration is an immersive exploration of whole genome sequencing of bacteria. It reveals new narratives about the body, throwing what it means to be ‘human’ into question.
