It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this U SPORTS championship on behalf of U SPORTS and all 58 of our member universities.
Over 15,000 Student-athletes compete each year for the right to represent their university in one of the 23 U SPORTS Championships. We congratulate you on attaining this goal and thank each of you for the inspiring performances you have provided us during the season and for those to come throughout these championships. We are privileged to watch you compete with courage, dedication and talent.
U SPORTS Championships is only possible with the considerable time and effort devoted to them by our host committees and institutions.
U SPORTS’ success depends heavily on volunteers who invest innumerable hours, talents, and skills in preparing a championship event. We all owe our deepest gratitude to them. U SPORTS Championships also allow alumni parents, faculty, staff, students, and our U SPORTS corporate partners to share some time together and enjoy the competition. I welcome all of you and thank you for your support.
We are confident that your experiences competing at this year’s U SPORTS championship will provide you with memories that will have a lasting impact on your future. As we continue to build the story of our talented and inspiring U SPORTS student-athletes, we wish you much success!

Au nom de U SPORTS et de nos 58 universités membres, j’ai le grand plaisir de vous accueillir à ce championnat de U SPORTS.
Plus de 15 000 étudiants athlètes concourent chaque année pour obtenir le droit de représenter leur université dans un des 23 Championnats de U SPORTS. Nous vous félicitons d’avoir réalisé cet objectif et nous remercions chacun(e) de vous pour les performances inspirantes que vous nous avez offertes tout au long de ces championnats. C’est notre privilège de pouvoir vous voir concourir avec autant de courage, de dévouement et de talent.
Les Championnats de U SPORTS ne seraient pas possibles sans le temps et les efforts considérables déployés par nos comités et nos institutions hôtes.
Le succès de U SPORTS repose beaucoup sur les bénévoles qui investissent une quantité incalculable d’heures, de talents et de compétences dans la préparation d’un tournoi de championnat. Nous vous devons à tous notre plus profonde reconnaissance. Les Championnats de U SPORTS sont aussi l’occasion pour les anciens, les parents, le corps enseignant, le personnel et les étudiants ainsi que les partenaires corporatifs de U SPORTS de partager du temps ensemble, de profiter de la compétition. MESSaGE DE La PRÉSIDEnT MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDEnT
Welcome student athletes, support staff and spectators.
On behalf of the University of Waterloo, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 Miller Waste U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship. For nearly 70 years, athletics has played an integral role in the fabric of our institution and forged a powerful connection with our community. I am confident this week’s Championship will bolster these connections further.
Through a strong partnership with the Township of Woolwich, the University of Waterloo’s Department of Athletics & Recreation has been acting with purpose and working together to prepare for what is sure to be a memorable experience for all competitors and fans.
We’re looking forward to cheering on all the teams, but in particular the Waterloo Warriors women’s team. This team has been one of our most consistent varsity programs over the last decade. Not only have they excelled on the ice, but these student-athletes continue to make their mark in the classroom. In the 2023-24 season, 18 of the roster’s 30 student-athletes earned a spot on the President’s Academic Honour Roll. It is a feat even more remarkable considering that they were training on and off while dealing with the pandemic.
Based on the trajectory of this program, including a fourth-place finish at Nationals last season, we can’t wait to see what they accomplish this time around. No matter what, we are proud to have them represent our institution.
The theme of this year’s event is “See Them, Be Them.” The focus is on empowering girls and women in sport. Win or lose, I hope every student-athlete has an opportunity to appreciate competing at this level--and perhaps more importantly, inspiring others to reach for their dreams.
The opportunity to host the 2025 Miller Waste U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship (and next year’s tournament) means a lot to our institution and community. I have no doubt that our dedicated and enthusiastic staff, coaches, student-athletes, and volunteers will make these events unforgettable for the student-athletes, guests, spectators and our community as a whole.

Bienvenue aux étudiantes-athlètes, au personnel de soutien et aux partisans.
Au nom de l’Université de Waterloo, j’ai le plaisir de vous souhaiter la bienvenue au Championnat de hockey féminin de U SPORTS 2025 présenté par Miller Waste. Depuis près de 70 ans, le sport joue un rôle essentiel dans le tissu de notre établissement et forge un lien puissant avec notre communauté. Je suis convaincu que le championnat de cette semaine servira à renforcer ces liens.
Grâce à un solide partenariat avec le canton de Woolwich, le département des sports et des loisirs de l’Université de Waterloo a agi avec détermination et a travaillé de concert pour préparer ce qui sera certainement une expérience mémorable pour toutes les compétitrices et tous les partisans.
Nous avons hâte d’encourager toutes les équipes, et en particulier l’équipe féminine des Warriors de Waterloo. Cette équipe a été l’un de nos programmes sportifs les plus constants au cours de la dernière décennie. Non seulement elles ont excellé sur la glace, mais ces étudiantes-athlètes continuent de faire leur marque en classe. Au cours de la saison 2023-2024, 18 des 30 étudiantesathlètes de l’équipe ont obtenu une place sur le tableau d’honneur académique du président. C’est un exploit d’autant plus remarquable qu’elles s’entraînaient par intermittence tout en devant composer avec la pandémie.
Compte tenu de la trajectoire de ce programme, incluant notamment une quatrième position aux championnats nationaux la saison dernière, nous sommes impatients de voir ce qu’elles accompliront cette fois-ci. Quoi qu’il en soit, nous sommes fiers qu’elles représentent notre institution.
Le thème de la compétition de cette année est « Voyez-les, Suivez-les ». L’accent est sur l’habilitation des filles et des femmes dans le sport. Qu’elle gagne ou qu’elle perde, j’espère que chaque étudiante-athlète aura l’occasion d’apprécier la possibilité d’évoluer à ce niveau et, peut-être plus important encore, d’inspirer les autres à réaliser leurs rêves.
La possibilité d’accueillir le Championnat de hockey féminin de U SPORTS 2025, présenté par Miller Waste (et le tournoi de l’année prochaine) signifie beaucoup pour notre établissement et notre communauté. Je ne doute pas que notre personnel, nos entraîneurs, nos étudiantes-athlètes et nos bénévoles, dévoués et enthousiastes, rendront ces événements inoubliables pour les étudiantesathlètes, les invités, les spectateurs et notre communauté dans son ensemble.

U SP ORTS , its mem ber institutions and their teams are c ommitted to c reatin g a safe, comf orta ble and enjoyable experience f or all fans, in the stad ium, gymnasium, a rena and university cam pus facilities We want all fans attend ing U S PORTS events to enjoy the e xpe rience in a resp onsible fashion. When attending a game , spe ctators are requ ired to ref rain from the followin g behaviours:
• Behaviou r that is unruly, disrupt ive or ille gal in nature ;
• Throwing objects on the f ield of play ;
• Unauthorized pe rsons accessin g the the field of play;
• Intoxication or other s igns of a lcoh ol impairm ent that results in irresp onsible behaviour;
• Foul and/or abusive langua ge and /or obscene gestures;
• Verbal or physica l harassment of opp osing team fans, offic ials, op ponents or other person;
• Intentionally sitting or standing in areas which obstruct the p assage an d/or view of other spectat ors;
• Failing t o f ollowing instructions of university or security staff
Event patrons a re responsible f or their c onduct as well as the c onduct of their guests. University or security staff will promptly intervene t o supp ort an environment where event patrons, their guests and other fans can enjoy the event f ree from the a bove behaviour Event pat rons and guests wh o violate these provisions will be subject t o ejection with out refund and loss of ticket privile ges f or future games

U SPORTS, ses établissements membres et leurs équipes sont engagés à créer des expériences sécuritaires, confortables et profitables pour tous les partisans au stade, au gymnase, à l’aréna et dans les installations universitaires. Nous désirons que tous les partisans qui assistent aux événements de U SPORTS profitent de l’expérience de façon responsable. Quand ils assistent à une rencontre sportive, les spectateurs doivent s’abstenir des comportements suivants:
• Comportements turbulents, perturbateurs ou de nature illégale;
• Lancer des objets sur le terrain de jeu;
• Accès au terrain de jeu par des personnes non autorisées;
• État d’ébriété ou autres signes d’abus d’alcool qui conduisent à des comportements irresponsables;
• Langage grossier ou injurieux et/ou des gestes obscènes;
• Harcèlement verbal ou physique de partisans de l’équipe adverse, d’officiels, d’adversaires ou d’autres personnes;
• S’asseoir ou se lever intentionnellement dans des endroits qui obstruent le passage et/ou la vue d’autres spectateurs;
• Refus de suivre les directives du personnel de l’université ou de la sécurité.
Les participants à l’événement sont responsables de leur conduite ainsi que celle de leur(s) invité(s). Le personnel de l’université ou de la sécurité interviendront rapidement pour appuyer un environnement où les participants de l’événement, leurs invités et les autres partisans peuvent profiter d’une activité libre de tous les comportements précités. Les participants à l’événement et les invités qui enfreignent ces dispositions seront sujets à une expulsion des lieux sans remboursement et à la perte de privilèges liés à la détention de billets pour de futures rencontres sportives.
