JUMP INTO THE OUTDOOR POOL SEASON By Jene Lyons, Deputy General Manager Supervision of Non-Swimmers
A responsible person must supervise non-swimming persons at all times while in the pool area. At no time may the responsible person be more than an arm’s length away from a non-swimming person who is in the water.
Food
No food of any kind is permitted in the pool area. Patrons are encouraged to snack or eat meals in the Terrace areas overlooking the pool.
Electronics
Sound-producing devices, including cell phones and iPodtype products, must be used with earphones or turned down so that other patrons are not disturbed.
The Outdoor Pool is ready for you to use this summer!
We hope you will plan to spend time this summer in one of the most spectacular amenities here at WAL — the Outdoor Pool! Be sure to say hello to the life guards from our pool contractor company, American Pools. To make your pool experience enjoyable and safe, please take a moment to review the abbreviated list of pool rules below.
Admission and Guests
Swim Tests
At the lifeguard’s discretion, patrons of any age may be asked to demonstrate swimming ability in order to go into areas deeper than 3 1/2 feet without a responsible person. The test involves swimming the length of the pool lap lanes and treading water for 60 seconds.
Lap Lanes
These are intended for use by persons swimming, walking or running laps only.
Each resident (over the age of one year) must have a valid Watergate at Landmark ID card in order to use the pool. A maximum of two guests per unit using the unit’s amenity passes are allowed in the pool until further notice. One-day passes are currently not for sale.
Hours
The Outdoor Pool at WAL opened on the Saturday before Memorial Day. From now until Wednesday, June 23, The pool will open 1 – 8 p.m. Mondays – Fridays and 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. Pool hours beginning on Thursday, June 24 through Labor Day on Monday, September 6 will be from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. After September 6, the Outdoor Pool will be closed during the week. But, the pool will open for two weekends from 10 a.m. – 6p.m. before closing for the season. Those dates are September 11, 12, 18 and 19.
