“Watergate at Landmark has many pleasures, but I think what I treasure most are the beautiful scenery and landscaping. I never cease to enjoy the many flowers, shrubs, trees— including some unique ones—and spots to sit and admire the view. Wildlife bring me a mockingbird’s glorious song, a robin’s hunt-andpeck, butterflies unaware of their beauty and industrious chipmunks and squirrels. Once a little movement in the grass turned out to be a tiny beige toad...now I look forward to a visit from the cicadas.” ~Leslie Wilder

“Sometime in the early 80s, the skating rink was built on the common area just outside the Community Center as a result of intense lobbying by Eleanor Kline,...whose Winter domain it became as long as she was able to skate. During the Winter, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays, the rink was well populated by a handful of residents.” ~Maynard Anderson

“Watergate kids celebrated the end of the COVID closures and the start of summer with a Tom and Jerry movie night. They were joined by some of our older Jerry fans for a fun evening in the Community Center.”

home and you don't have to do maintenance? When in need of help there is always someone willing to offer a hand. I left for a few years, searching for the perfect place to retire. We returned to WAL. I really missed the diversity of this area. The down side is so few owners take the time to vote for our board members. Thank you WAL staff for all you do for us!”
