Dear Waterford High School Families,
I hope this email finds you well. Here are some reminders and updates about what is scheduled for the next few weeks:
• Spirit Week: Will take place from Monday, October 20 through Friday, October 24. Throughout the week, students and staff are encouraged to participate in themed dress-up days and activities that celebrate school pride, community, and fun. It’s a great opportunity to show your Lancer Spirit and connect with classmates and staff.

o Thursday – Pajama Day (Early Release - State Testing Schedule)
o Friday – Lancer Nation Day & Pep Rally
• PSAT Testing & NGSS Prep: Grade 9 will take the PSAT 8/9, and Grade 11 will be taking the PSATNMSQT in school on Thursday, October 23 followed by an early dismissal schedule. All College Board assessments given during the school day are administered in a digital format using schoolissued Chromebooks. Grade 10 students will be taking a practice NGSS computer test before conducting a laboratory investigation on Thursday, October 23 followed by an early dismissal schedule. Grade 12 students will stay home and use the day for post-secondary planning and college visits, career exploration and job shadowing, and volunteer and internship opportunities.
• Powder Puff Football Game: During halftime of the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, October 24, don’t miss our Powder Puff showdown! This fun-filled competition is sure to be one of the highlights of the night – come cheer on your classmates and enjoy an unforgettable evening under the lights.
• Homecoming Dance: Join us on Saturday, October 25 in the Lancer Gym from 7:00-10:00 PM for our “Rio” themed Homecoming Dance. Tickets are $15.00 (available the week prior online or during all lunch waves) or can be purchased at the door for $25.00 (WHS students only; cash or check).

• Picture Day Retakes: Picture Day was a success, but we know we didn’t get everybody. To make sure we don’t miss you, we have scheduled picture retakes on Wednesday, October 22 from 10:15-11:15 AM in the Field House foyer. Any student wanting a retake must return this form with parent/guardian signature, your original package, and a retake fee of $10.00 if applicable. WHS_Retakes25.pdf
• Yearbook: The 2026 yearbook is officially for sale. To purchase your copy at a discounted rate be sure to go to www.buytheyearbook.com before December 5, 2025. Our school code is 16545832601. Please email jbono@waterfordschools.org with any concerns.
• Message From Safe Grad: Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 21 at 6PM in the WHS Library. We hope to see you there!

• All Parents Welcome: Our next Parents Advisory Coffee meeting of the school year is on Wednesday, October 29, from 7:30-8:30AM in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS
administrative team for an hour’s conversation and coffee. We will share some information about the school year and some of our upcoming events, and as always, we will set aside some time for any questions you may have. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
