Dear Waterford High School Families,
I hope this email finds you well. Here are some reminders and updates about what is scheduled for the next few weeks:
• Parent Scholarship Fund: WHS has a long tradition of awarding scholarships to a wide variety of students, and an important scholarship is the Parent Scholarship. This scholarship is completely supported by donations from WHS parents, so we are appealing to you to help keep it strong. The following letter includes information on how to contribute. • WHS 5K Turkey Trot: WHS Lancer Leadership Council is organizing its annual 5K Turkey Trot that will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9:30AM at Great Neck. We are looking for sponsors and runners to participate in this walk/run. • Waterford Police Department Events:
o Coffee with Cop at the Waterford Community Center on Tues, Sept 23rd 8:30AM-10AMThe event is for the public to have causal conversation with Waterford Officers and other first responders. Starbucks will be providing FREE coffee and refreshers. Flanders Donuts will be providing FREE donuts. Hodges and some of his comfort dog friends will be there.
o Tip A Cop at Fat Tuna on Thurs, Sept 25th 5PM-8PM- Officers will be acting as the wait staff to raise money for the CT Special Olympics. They will be taking orders and delivering food. After you tip the wait staff you have the opportunity to give an additional tip (donation) that goes directly to the CT Special Olympics. Hodges will be there for the first half of the event.
• All Parents Welcome: Our first Parents Advisory Coffee meeting for the school year is on Wednesday, September 24, from 7:30-8:30AM in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS administrative team for an hour’s conversation and coffee. We will share some information about the start of the school year and some of our upcoming events, and as always, we will set
aside some time for any questions you may have. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
