Principal’s Notes QH Students in the News!

On April 14, 5th grader Jamarys Olivero was a featured reader at Central Connecticut State University. The Ana Grace Project hosted “Love Wins Because She Persisted” featuring an intimate conversation with Chelsea Clinton and Nelba Marquez-Greene, founder of the Ana Grace Project. Clinton and Greene discussed the necessity of leadership among women and girls, the Love Wins movement, and more before fielding questions from the audience. Clinton also signed copies of her new children’s book, “She Persisted.” By all accounts, Jamarys did an amazing job!

This week, Addison MacDonald was named Quaker Hill School’s Rotary Student of the Year. She was chosen for her leadership qualities, her kindness toward others, and service to her community!

Mrs. Bray and Mrs. Kenyon led our school in a “Day of Wonder.” Students explored different disabilities and learning styles. We were all so impressed with our knowledgeable student leaders and our inquisitive learners. It was an amazing day! Today, our Grade 5 students were treated to a guest speaker, New England Blackwolves Defenseman Brett Manney. Brett spoke about perseverance and never giving up. The session was filmed by CPTV for an upcoming segment.
