Mise en œuvre du Droit à l’Eau – Rapport de stage –avril 2009
Summary Two years ago ACF-FR carried out an across-the-board study of the right to water that has enabled the Organization to acquire international recognition and an acknowledgement of its legitimacy on the overall issue of the right of water. In April 2009, ACF-FR began a preliminary study on how to best to ensure the application of the right of water, the main lines of which focus on: • Mapping ‘organize in a hierarchy’ and identify ACF-IN countries where the right of water could be applied by means of a study of legal systems and judicial frameworks and the level of development of civil society. • Proposing a strategy that would ensure the application of the right of water in cooperation with WASH team members and in light of individual and collective discussions with them. The following results have come out of the preliminary study on these two aspects: Hierarchy/mapping: ACF-IN countries of key importance
ACF-FR countries of prime importance

Proposed strategy: Timing Short term and Continuous (transversal) Medium-term
What? Training ACF staff
Feasibility study and kit of activities
Long -term
How? Training materials (booklets and self-training CD)
Why? Disseminate knowledge on the right to water
Temporary work contract / professional training, probable Time: 5 months. Work at Head Office before moving to the field
Based on two or three pilot countries prepare an ACF-IN methodological kit that could be duplicated including: - matrix of ‘feasibility study' of application of the right - potential activities that could be integrated across standard WASH projects
Identify pilot missions Conduct pilot projects Fund research
Long- term
Replication
Fund research
Right of water really made possible across standard WASH projects of the ACF-IN missions Duplicate on a pre-defined larger scale
