We’ve made it to the third quarter! It sure feels like it has flown by. Quick reminder that the Wasilla Chamber does not have any meetings in July - we want everyone to go out and enjoy our fleeting Alaskan summer! That means no luncheons, no committee meetings, and no board meetings. Our wonderful Chamber Staff will be in the office normal hours, and our Visitor Information Center will remain open 7 days a week throughout the month, so feel free to stop in, call, or email if you have any membership, sponsorship, event, or local attraction questions or needs.
We are spending our meetingless month getting ready for our LAST Last Ball of the Season Golf Tournament. This will be our final golf tournament for the foreseeable future, and we are planning a fun party, so be sure to get your team registered and your sponsorships secured!
We’ve had a great year of luncheons so far - our speakers have informed us, educated us on ways to help our business, and connected us with resources in the community. If you haven’t joined us for a luncheon in awhile, be sure to check our calendar for upcoming speakers and join us the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from Noon to 1 PM at Evangelo’s! Be sure to pre-register on our website so we can ensure enough seating and lunch for all.
We are also spending our July updating member records. If you have had staffing changes, moved your business, or just generally want to check to be sure your member information is correct, give us a call at the office and we can help you get everything refreshed.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce. Here's to many more successes in the future!

The first half of 2024 has been a dynamic and successful period for the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, marked by a series of impactful events and initiatives that have strengthened our community and bolstered local businesses. Here's a look back at our major accomplishments and key events from the first and second quarters:
Kicking off the year with enthusiasm, the Love Local event was a resounding success. Held in February, this event celebrated the heart and soul of our community—our local businesses. Love Lcoal aims to connect residents with local businesses and to encourage them to shop locally, and it did just that. The participation from businesses and the community was overwhelming, resulting in a significant boost in local commerce and fostering a renewed sense of community spirit. Annual
Our Annual Membership Meeting, held in March, was another highlight of the first quarter. It was an opportunity for members to come together, reflect on the past year, and set the stage for the future. The highlight of our Annual Memebership Meeting always being our Annual Member Awards, a great time was had by all at the beautiful Meier Lake Resort.
In May, we hosted the 28th Annual Military Appreciation Lunch, an event that holds a special place in our hearts. This year's lunch was particularly memorable, and while the weather may have been a bit brisk and damp, the event honored the dedication and sacrifice of our military community, and featured inspiring speeches, heartfelt tributes, and a fun new twist on Alaskan Military history.
The support from local businesses and volunteers was instrumental in making this event a significant success.
A milestone partnership event for the Chamber, the City of Wasilla, and the Matanuska Susitna Borough, the first-ever Mat-Su Regional Spring Economic Summit, took place in April. This groundbreaking event brought together leaders from various sectors to discuss economic trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the Mat-Su Valley. Day one of the summit featured expert panels, keynote speakers, and networking sessions, providing invaluable insights and fostering collaboration across the region. Day two took us on a tour of some of the major economic drivers for our region: The Depot, the Wasilla Airport, and Port MacKenzie. The positive feedback and high level of participation highlighted the community's interest in shaping a prosperous economic future.
As we move into the second half of the year, the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce remains committed to supporting our local businesses and community. We are excited about upcoming events, including the 16th Annual Last Ball of the Season Golf Tournament, and look forward to continuing our positive momentum. Thank you to all our members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, we are making Wasilla a vibrant and thriving place to live and do business.

Alaska Solar Supply was established as a business in Wasilla Alaska on July 1, 2019. Although the business is new, it is owned by principals that own and operate Nodak Electric, Inc. Which is a very well established Alaska electrical contracting and construction firm.
As Nodak Electric president, Matt Rehak has had contact with renewable energy products as a licensed, bonded, and insured installation company. This led to his interest in having products readily available for the customer and only one entity to deal with when making the purchase when installation is needed.
This can now be efficiently and expertly accomplished through Alaska Solar Supply. The total team at Alaska Electric Supply can proved a staff with years of experience in design, sales, and installation of: off grid cabin and home systems, grid tie residential and commercial systems. https://alaska-solar.com/
