Opportunity Starts with an Open Door
At Washtenaw Community College, we believe a high-demand, high-wage job begins with strong skills. That’s why we created the Workforce Foundation Skills Lab — a flexible learning program designed to help adults 18 and older strengthen the math skills needed for today’s jobs.
Many programs focus on reading, but few focus on math — even though it’s a skill used in almost every career. Whether you’re a veteran, interested in training to become a healthcare worker, police officer or working in the trades or construction, this lab offers a self-paced, personalized way to build your math confidence and prepare for success.
The Workforce Foundation Skills Lab is free for Washtenaw County residents, making it easier than ever to invest in your future. With computer-based lessons and one-on-one support from a facilitator, you can start anytime and learn at your own pace.

This skills lab supports the Governor’s Workforce Development Plan for Michigan, helping local residents gain the tools they need to grow, advance, and succeed.

Your next step toward a stronger foundation — and a stronger future — starts here at Washtenaw Community College.
Dr. Michelle Merusi Vice President Economic,

The Workforce Foundation Skills Lab is designed to help adult learners (ages 18 and up) improve their math and workforce readiness skills — to gain employment, receive a promotion or enter an apprenticeship program. Learn more on page 4.
