GRADUATION 2016
I
n a simple, yet touching, gesture at the beginning of graduation, the thirty-two members of the class of 2016 stood together and applauded their teachers and advisors for their guidance, enthusiasm and dedication. They joined Chair of the Board of Trustees, Bill Dunbar, in thanking them. “Most importantly, thank you to the teachers, to the staff and to Pat for everything you’ve done for our kids,” Bill said. “You’ve taught them; you’ve coached them; you’ve advised them; and you’ve inspired them. As a parent and as a trustee, I’ll be forever grateful for the work that you do.” Appreciation for their teachers was a theme continued by
the graduates throughout the ceremony. As is the tradition at WMS graduations, each student took to the stage to either speak or perform. “WMS has helped me build a vision of who I want to be in the future,” said Max Benton-Cook. “Ever since I was little, the teachers here have supported my creativity and they have helped me legitimately enjoy trying new things and going on new adventures.” Trying new things emerged as yet another theme. Many graduates talked about appreciating WMS for helping them to push themselves beyond their own expectations. continued on page 2
