ONLINE!

WebTrac is our online registration system, which provides our customers with an additional method of registering for most Washington County Recreation Department Programs. Those with internet access can view program availability, register for most programs, and view their program history, 24 hours a day! You can “shop” for activity enrollment by selecting your programs, placing them in your shopping cart, and checking out using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to complete your transaction on our secured site. In order to use WebTrac for the first time you must have your account activated by the Washington County Recreation Department. Simply contact the Washington County Recreation Department. This one-time process is done over the phone and only takes about 3 minutes.

5K RUN/WALK EVENT COURSE

This 3.1 mile loop course runs on campus. Course is closed to traffic from 8:50AM until 10:00AM. Once time limit has expired runners/walkers must move to road shoulders and sidewalks and continue, unassisted, at their own risk. Course maps and race details will be emailed to participants, available online and posted at event.

FOOD/TOY DRIVE

Again this year Hagerstown Community College athletic teams are proud to announce their annual Food Drive. All Turkey Trot Participants are asked to bring a few canned/nonperishable goods with them on Thanksgiving Morning. The items will be donated to Local Food Banks. Representatives of the “Toys for Tots” program will also be onsite to collect new, unwrapped toys. For every food/toy item donated you will receive a ticket to be entered into your choice of 5 prize bundle options. So please, think of those in need during the holiday season and help us reach our goals.

For ages 3-10YR, this special event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Please meet in the arena and wait for announcements to line up. All children will have the opportunity to run 600 meters and receive a ribbon.

POOCH PACKET

The Turkey Trot is a dog friendly event. In fact, you can jog with your dog by adding on a “Pooch Packet.” For an additional $5 you may register your dog. ALL preregistered dogs will receive a Pooch Packet they will include a collectable dog tag collar charm, dog treat, and waste clean-up bag. All dogs must be accompanied by a registered participant. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. For the safety of all participants, retractable leashes are prohibited. If you are participating with your dog please start in the back of the heat. We expect participants to clean up after their dogs. Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM? Our qualified staff are annually trained on policy and procedures, fingerprinted/ background checked and certified in CPR/First Aid. Campers must pack a lunch daily in a cooler. Lunch is NOT provided. Refrigeration is NOT available. Upon registration you will receive “Camper Information” forms. These forms must be filled out completely and brought TO THE CAMPSITE the first day your camper attends a camp session. Every camper must be signed in and out by an adult within the hours of operation. Adults must show photo identification at time of pick-up. A late fee will be assessed to parents that pick up campers after the close of the camp day. Summer Youth Day Camps operate daily Monday-Friday for children 6-12 years old. Age is determined by the age of the camper on the first day they attend camp. 5yr olds may attend camp if they have completed Kindergarten. A 13yr old camper may attend as long as he/she was 12yr old on the first day they attended. (This applies to campers who experience a 13th birthday during camp sessions). All Campers must possess appropriate toileting skills. Campsites are located throughout Washington County. Camp fees and hours of operation vary according to location. AGES: 4yr-18yr. Participants must be the age listed by September 1 to be eligible for, and to enroll in the class. WHAT DO YOU NEED?: Appropriate dance shoes are required for all classes. Participants should wear tight clothing and pull hair away from the face. FACILITY: All classes are held at Pangborn Elementary School. Come experience our huge dance space at Pangborn Elementary School Gymnasium which has all the amenities of a professional studio such as dance surface floor covering, portable mirrors and portable ballet barres. CLASSES: Each class is held once a week for the duration of the Session. Dancers may register for one or multiple classes. Class times and fees vary, and range from 45 minutes - 90 minutes.

Fees per Session range from $55$80, depending on class length and participant residency. Fees cover each session, and usually include 12 weeks of classes. SESSIONS: Each Youth Dance season begins in August and continues through May. Each Youth Dance season is broken into two Sessions (Fall & Spring). Students focus on technique and skills during the Fall classes. In the spring, classes build on skill and technique while rehearsing the choreographed routines performed at the Spring recital. ENROLLMENT: Youth Dance Registration opens during our Dance Fest Event. Class sizes are limited and classes are filled on a first-come/ first-served basis. Registrations will continue to be accepted until the first

dance class, if spaces are available. Only students enrolled in the Fall session are given the opportunity, and permitted, to register for the Spring session. Spring Session classes will be offered at the same times/days/fees as the Fall Classes. Participation in the Spring Dance Recital is optional but, requires registration and participation in both Fall and Spring Sessions. REGISTRATION: Online registration is only available for our Youth Dance Program after Dance Fest Event. Complete the Youth Dance registration form and submit it, along with your payment during Dance Fest or to our office by the first dance class. After Dance Fest online registration will also be available. Choose the age & skill-appropriate class for your participant. Note the coordinating class registration number on your registration form.

The Creative Movements program is a dance program for pre-school age children. Participants will be introduced to the basics of ballet and jazz dancing. This class is separate from our youth dance program. Children taking Creative Movements will NOT participate in the Spring Youth Dance Recital. Think you can hit a slow pitched softball 325 feet? Can you “hose” a runner at home from center-field? Or maybe you have never played organized sports in your life? We have the league for your team! We offer all levels of softball from recreational to competitive. Co-Rec league games are scheduled once a week in the evenings. Games are played at Pinesburg Softball Complex. One umpire is provided per game. An end of season double elimination tournament will determine the league Champion. The Co-Rec Softball Season will span April - August. Community Recreation Facilities offer rental space for all types of parties. The Recreation Centers can accommodate your birthday party! Amenities include athletic equipment and gymnasium space. Entertain children and adults with volleyball, dodge ball, kick ball, basketball and space to play! A recreation attendant will be available for assistance and to monitor your event. Please no food or drink inside the gymnasium. Party Rentals are available year-round. Gymnasium spaces are rented at 3-hour blocks of time. The fee applies per 3-hour time block or portion of. Users may not arrive early or stay later than time applied/paid for. Three hour block includes user set up and tear down of party supplies.

The facilities are awarded to individuals or organizations that have properly completed and submitted a Facility Use Application. APPLICATION PROCEDURES: 1. Contact Washington County Recreation Department to confirm availability and tentatively reserve a facility. 2. Submit a completed Facility Use Application. Include Payment. 3. Upon receipt your application will be approved or denied. If denied you will be contacted to inform and possibly reschedule. (Use of facilities will be granted only after it has been determined that the space is available, not required for a recreation activity, and approved by the appropriate persons) 4. If approved your application will be processed and your receipt will act as confirmation and rental security. 5. Requests should be made at least 14 days prior to the activity date. FACILITY USE GUIDELINES: 1. Applicants are responsible for enforcing adherence to all rules (including participants, officials and spectators) 2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. 3. NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE PERMITTED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. 4. Applicants are prohibited from operating concessions in the Recreation Centers. 5. Any applicant reported to the department for improper or unauthorized use of facilities not consistent with the policies covered in this agreement will be subject to cancellation of this agreement. The Washington County Recreation Department reserves the right to deny, put on probation or cancel any facility use agreement for any reasonable cause or violation of this agreement. 6. Groups using facilities here are expected to treat the facilities respectfully. Decorations must be in good taste and temporary. All decorations/signage will be attached in a non-destructive manner. Painters tape or temporary removable hangers are suggested. 7. Any damage that may result though usage is the responsibility of the person(s) requesting the space. Those persons are also responsible for crowd control and any abuse of the facilities that may occur. 8. The facility will be returned to “as found” condition inside and outside by the conclusion of use. WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: Decisions to close School Recreation Centers will be made by the Department Director, may vary from location to location or times, and every reasonable attempt will be made to communicate status directly to applicant. 20

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS Sometimes excellent courses with super instructors are cancelled because too many people wait until the last minute to register. Our courses have to be cost-recoverable, and we need a minimum number of students enrolled before a class can run. Don’t Wait! Register now for a class of your choice. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes for any reason found to be necessary by the staff. If insufficient enrollment causes an activity to be canceled, participants will receive a FULL REFUND. When a class is rescheduled by our department, no refunds will be given. Please allow 2 weeks for the processing of refunds.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WebTrac is our new online registration system, which provides our customers with an additional method of registering for most Washington County Recreation Department Programs. Those with internet access can view program availability, register for most programs, and view their program history, 24 hours a day! You can “shop” for activity enrollment by selecting your programs, placing them in your shopping cart, and checking out using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to complete your transaction on our secured site. REGISTER EARLY! Early program registration is encouraged because participant space is limited with each program. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Pre-Registration is REQUIRED unless otherwise indicated.

From the Dual Highway, (Rt 40) turn onto Edgewood Drive toward Home Federal Bank. At the third traffic light turn left onto the campus. The ARCC (Athletic, Recreation, & Community Center) can be reached by taking a left turn onto Scholar Drive. Follow that road until you come to the first building on your left (this is the ARCC). The Fitness Center is on the 2nd floor of the ARCC. Please park in the parking lot to the left of the building. The Tennis Courts are located directly behind the ARCC with parking near them. HCC PARKING is limited to parking lots marked L1, L2, and L3 at the Hagerstown Community College for participants of classes offered by the Washington County Recreation Department.

FEE STRUCTURE Resident - residing within the boundaries of Washington County, MD. Nonresident - residing outside the boundaries of Washington County, MD REFUND POLICY No refunds or transfers will be made after a program has started, except in the case of the participant’s illness, supported by written documentation from the family physician. Credits will only be issued at the discretion of the Recreation Department Director. *Note: A $15 service charge per participant/per activity will be assessed for any participant who cancels or transfers.
