There are different ways to register for recreation programs and special events. Register online at www.washcorefit.com or click on the activity hyperlink located throughout the program guide. Mail-in registration is also accepted. Print a completed form (located at the end of the program guide) and mail directly to our office.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Girl’s Youth Volleyball League is offered to teach volleyball skills and improve techniques in a competitive environment. Participants will be led in technique drills during weekly practices as well as participating in a game on Saturday mornings (games will start Sat. Dec 6th).

After team selection night, all registered players will be assigned a team. Player’s assigned coach will be in contact with first practice information. Practices will begin in November. Practice and game schedules will be handed out to each participant at their first practice.

Each 2nd grade and 3-5th grade teams will be scheduled for practice for 1 hour on Tuesday’s and each 6-8th grade team will practice for 1 hour on Thursday’s. Please note: practice times will differ each week from 6-7pm,7-8pm or 8-9pm. League games will be for 1 hour on Saturday mornings starting Dec 6th.

No equipment is necessary. Sneakers must be worn and please bring a drink. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come/ first-serve basis, spots are limited, so do not wait to register!

All players must be pre-registered prior to team selection night. No spots will be held without registration and payments. NO REFUNDS will be given. All players will receive a team t-shirt so be sure to indicate T-SHIRT SIZE when you register. Again, all registered players will be placed on a team after team selection night.

Team selection night is used to evaluate each players skill level to determine fairness in teams.

YOUTH SHOTOKAN KARATE

The basic objectives of these traditional Japanese Karate classes are to develop character while physically and mentally strengthening and conditioning the individual. Instruction is led by Robert O’Brien who is a certified instructor and examiner. Uniform/ Karate Gi is required. Adult Classes listed in the Adult Category. For ages 7-13 years old.

INTRODUCTION TO ARCHERY (OUTDOOR)

The youth archery program will introduce participants to the sport of archery, to the type of bows, arrows, and safety equipment used in the sport. The program will offer instruction on archery range safety rules and safely using archery equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice archery shooting techniques For ages 10-15 years old.

YOUTH ARCHERY CLUB (OUTDOOR)

This is a continuation of the Washington County Youth Archery program. To participate in this program you must have completed the Introduction to Youth Archery program. In the Youth Archery Program we will continue to focus on the fundamentals of shooting while engaging in a program long shooting competition. All equipment will be provided we will not need or use personal shooting equipment. For ages 10-15 years old.

YOUTH PICKLEBALL BEGINNER LESSONS

Our youth pickleball program offers instruction for beginners and opportunities for recreational play. Learn the rules and techniques of pickleball while having fun and exercising. For ages 10-15 years old.

YOUTH TENNIS LESSONS

Our youth tennis classes are open to beginners through the advanced level. Children will learn a variety of skills and strategies. Age is determined by the age of the participant on the first scheduled lesson. Please view the age division below.

HAPPY FEET TRACK CLUB

Children will participate in a wide variety of running exercises. This program centers around physical activity and how it related to a healthy and happy lifestyle. Designed for fun, fitness, and participantion. This is a very popular program and spots are limited, so don’t wait to register. For ages 5-8 years old.

This is a non-competitive, fitness building club. Participants will be introduced to sprinting, distance running and field evetns. Desgined for fun, fitness, and participation. This is a popular program and spots are limited. Do not wait to register. For ages 9-13 years old.

YOUTH SOCCER CLINIC

AT MARTY SNOOK PARK - MULTI-SPORTS FIELD

This is an instructional soccer skills program. The curriculum uses fun games and challenges to illustrate and teach basic soccer skills and concepts. Please wear athletic attire. Sneakers are appropriate. No soccer equipment is necessary. Please bring personal water/drink bottle.

ZUMBA

RHYTHM IS GONNA GETCHA

Get fit with Cardio and Toning movements set to Pop and Classic Rock while adding a twist of Salsa to the mix. This program has introduced small weights as part of its routine.

SPIN CYCLING CLASS

Try indoor cycling to incinerate calories and sweat off those extra pounds. Bring a towel and bottle of water to class. You will need it!

FULL BODY WORKOUT

Join us for a well-rounded, all-levels yoga class that blends the mindful structure of Hatha Yoga with the fluid sequencing of Vinyasa. F.I.T. FUNCTIONAL INTERVAL TRAINING

This class offers a workout incorporating functional, full-body strength training exercises into an high intensity interval training format. We will alternate burst of intense work with rest in order to burn fat. Body weight and light dumbbell work will be utilized for a beginner to intermediate workout.

TOTAL FITNESS WORKOUT IN WILLIAMSPORT

Low impact cardio class where participants can define a personal workout to suit their fitness needs. Muscle toning and stretching are done at the end of each class. This program is a great option for seniors.

ADULT PICKLEBALL LADDER LEAGUE

The Adult Pickleball Ladder League is a semi-competitive pickleball tournament that is played over 8 weeks of gameplay. The league is intended for intermediate to competitive players (2.5+). This league is not recommended for beginners. The format of play is designed so players will play mostly with players of similar ability. Their starting position will be based on their initial self-rating. As the league commences, players will move up and down the competitive ladder based on the outcome of their game scores. You will not need a partner for this league, you will rotate through partners based on the competition ladder. Games will take place between 5:30pm9:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Game times will be determined and communicated weekly based on the current league standings.

ADULT RECREATIONAL CO REC VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Teams of men and women, 18 years and older will be given a 8-week schedule. This league will play at HCC ARCC. Spots are limited and teams will be accepted on a first-come-first serve basis. There will not be records, playoffs, or a championship. You must register as a team. Deadline to register is Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025.

ADULT SWING DANCE-EAST COAST SWING/ LINDY HOP (INTERMEDIATE)

Swing dancing is an energetic social dance style characterized by rhythmic footwork and playful interaction between partners. This course reviews swing-out fundamentals and introduces common variations. Class is appropriate for dancers who are familiar with swing-outs. No partner required, dancers are encouraged to rotate for practice.

ADULT SWING DANCE-EAST COAST SWING/ LINDY HOP (BEGINNER)

Swing dancing is an energetic social dance style characterized by rhythmic footwork and playful interaction between partners. This course introduces a flexible Hollywood Style swing-out with basic variations and teaches how to combine these moves to survive an entire night on the social dance floor. Class is appropriate for dancers of any level. No partner required, dancers are encouraged to rotate for practice.

DROP-IN ADULT VOLLEYBALL (INDOORS)

Players of all abilities and levels are welcome to attend drop-in programs. There is no formal instruction during any drop-in program. No preregistration is required. The Recreation Attendant will monitor the program. This program is co-ed. Teams will be determined upon arrival and players will rotate out as needed. This drop-in program will focus on recreational, non-competitive volleyball.

REGISTRATION FORM

1. Pick program(s) you are interested in and note the registration number.

2. Complete the registration form included in the rec guide. Every form must be signed by participant or parent/guardian in under the age of 18.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Webtrac is the Washington County Parks & Recreation’s online registration system. This software provides users with an additional method of registering for most programs. Those with internet access can access can view program availability, register for programs and view their history 24 hours a day! You must register for an account prior to registering for your first program at www.washcorecfit.com. You will be directed to choose a username and password for your family/ household. Once registered, you can view open activities, choose desired program and add to the shopping chart. Proceed to check out using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to complete your transaction on the secured site. Upon completion of registration, you will receive a receipt notification via e-mail. You must make complete payment at the time of registration. Partial payments will not be accepted. For assistance with online registration, please call 240-313-2805. In the event you have forgotten your password, please use the password recovery link on the login page.

PAYMENT

You must pay at the time of registration. We accept checks (payable to Washington County Treasurer), credit cards and money orders. Bank returned checks are subject to a $25 processing fee.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION

Please make note of your program start date. No confirmation will be sent. Your canceled check is your receipt. You will only be notified if there is a problem processing your registration or if the program is canceled.

FEE STRUCTURE

Resident - residing within the boundaries of Washington County, MD. Often referred as “in-county.” Nonresident - residing outside the boundaries of Washington County, MD. Often referred as “outof-county.” Prorations and discounts will not be offered for partial participation in programming. Multiple day programs will not be discounted or prorated due to inability to attend. Proration for late registration will be at the discretion of the Department Director.

REFUND POLICY

No refunds or transfers will be made after a program has started, except in the case of the participant’s illness, supported by written documentation from a physician. Credits will only be issued at the discretion of the Department Director. *Note: a $15 service charge per participant/per activity will be assessed for any participant who cancels or transfers.

AGE POLICY

Program participants must be the advertised age for a program by the first day of the program. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe.

PERSONS REQUIRING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS

Please call the Parks & Recreation Office at 240-313-2805 voice/TDD at least 10 working days prior to the activity or special event. Notification during registration (if earlier than 10 days) is preferred.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY/CLASS CANCELLATION

When HCC is closed, all programs held at that location are canceled. All other program locations: If weather is a concern, it is the participants responsibility to call the weather hotline for cancellation

announcements. The weather hotline is 240-313-2811.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS

Sometimes excellent courses with super instructors are canceled because too many people wait until the last minute to register. Our courses have to be cost-recoverable, and we need a minimum number of students enrolled before a class can run. Don’t wait! Register now for a class of your choice. The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes for any reason found to be necessary by the staff. If insufficient enrollment causes an activity to be canceled, participants will receive a FULL REFUND. When a class is rescheduled by our department, no refunds will be given. Please allow 2 weeks for the processing of refunds.

REGISTER EARLY!

Early program registration is encouraged because participant space is limited with each program. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Pre-Registration is REQUIRED unless otherwise indicated. Please note, our special events are very popular and fill-up very quickly. Make sure you register early for special events in order to attend - most special events require that you have a ticket prior to the event date.

Authorization for use of Visual Likeness: I do hereby consent and agree that the Washington County Recreation Department, it’s employees and agents have the right to record visual images of the above individual (s) for the purpose of promoting and publicizing Department programs and events, and warrant that I have the authority to do so on their behalf. I hereby release to the Department all rights to exhibit this work in print and electronic form and waive any rights, claims, or interest they may have to control or receive compensation for the use of any likeness in whatever media used.

Waiver of liability for injuries: I understand that accidents may occur during participation in the recreation programs in which the above individual (s) are enrolled. I assume for them by their participation in these programs, the risk of injury or death. I will inform the Recreation Department of any injury as soon as practicable. I agree to release, hold harmless, indemnify, and covenant not to sue the Department, the County Commissioners, Washington County Public Schools, their agents, employees and volunteers for any loss or liability that may result or any claims that may arise out of these programs.
