STUDENTS’ UNION From freshers’ fairs to fundraising for charity, discos to daytrips, there’s loads to get involved in at college outside of the classroom - all thanks to your students’ union (SU). BTECs aren’t worth as much as A-levels.

You can only get into university if you have A-levels.

BUSTED…

A BTEC Level 3 extended diploma is worth the same as three A-levels! If you are looking at going into a vocational profession, BTECs are a fantastic option as they give you hands on experience that employers strongly value.

Over 95% of universities will accept both A-levels and BTECs. In fact, if you are looking to go into a vocational profession, many universities prefer you to have a BTEC rather than A-levels… including ‘red brick’ unis!

APPRENTICESHIPS Get fantastic industry experience with an apprenticeship Apprenticeships give you a chance to earn as you learn and are the ideal way to develop knowledge and skills within the workplace while undertaking a programme of study. Apprentices spend most of the week working and the rest of the week learning. You will need an employer to take part in an apprenticeship - but we can help you with that.
