It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Kingsley School, a caring and high-achieving independent through-school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18.
Our small class sizes enable each child to progress at their own pace, with the support and challenge of exceptionally well-qualified teachers. In the Prep School, pupils perform extremely well academically against national benchmarks; gains in confidence, independence and resilience are also highly valued. In the Senior School and Sixth Form, students’ results in public examinations are significantly and consistently above the national average. Collectively, our students’ achievements outshine those of students in many other independent schools, including locally.
Alongside academic success, a Kingsley education offers a wealth of opportunities beyond the classroom. We want our students to experience the excitement of discovering new passions, as well as developing their existing hobbies and interests. Whether your child enjoys sport, music, art, drama, or something else, there will be plenty to engage and inspire them.
We are a kind, respectful, and supportive community that recognises and celebrates each individual’s unique talents. Ask any student or member of staff what they love about Kingsley and they will undoubtedly mention the school’s family feel. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we go the extra mile to ensure that every child is seen, heard, and known, and has a strong sense of belonging.
It is a privilege and a joy to lead such a happy and thriving school. If you are considering investing in your child’s future, please come and visit us and get to know us. We would be delighted to meet you, show you around, and answer any questions you may have.
Dr Sarah Howling Headteacher
For 140 years, The Kingsley School has been a place where students can truly flourish. We are proud of our rich history and dedication to providing an exceptional education that prioritises academic excellence, personal growth, wellbeing, and a love for learning.
The Kingsley School offers a through-school experience where children can join us from the age of three in our Prep School, seamlessly transition to our Senior School in Year 7, and continue their education in our Sixth Form. This structure provides continuity and stability throughout their formative years, fostering deep, long-lasting relationships and a strong sense of community. Our consistent educational philosophy and industry-leading teaching methods support both academic success and personal development.
Student wellbeing is at the heart of The Kingsley School. Our small class sizes enable us to cater to the individual needs of each student, ensuring personalised learning experiences. Our hands-on approach ensures that students receive the appropriate level of support to help them achieve their full potential, whether that involves additional learning support or the opportunity to take qualifications early.
Our renowned pastoral care system places students’ wellbeing at the centre of everything we do. Our experienced tutors provide outstanding teaching alongside personalised pastoral and academic care, fostering a community where students feel safe, confident, and supported. This nurturing environment helps to build self-belief and happiness, which are crucial for academic and personal success.
We are proud of our flexible and caring environment where every child is recognised as an individual, and their unique abilities are encouraged. Our curriculum, while based on the National Curriculum, is designed to be both broad and adaptable. At GCSE level, students typically sit public examinations in core subjects, including English Language, English Literature, mathematics, the sciences, humanities, and a modern foreign language. Additionally, we offer subjects such as Latin, classical civilisation, creative media, and drama, along with various design technology courses, including food science and nutrition, product design and textiles.
Our academic results speak volumes about our commitment to excellence. Over the last three years, 43% of GCSE grades were awarded at Grade 9-7, significantly surpassing the UK average of 21.8%. We are also immensely proud that in 2024, our students achieved a 100% pass rate across all subjects. In addition, 67% of grades in vocational qualifications were awarded a distinction or higher – further highlighting the outstanding achievements of our students. This success is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the supportive learning environment that we provide.
We have a strong tradition of nurturing the diverse interests and talents of our students. From music and sport to drama and outdoor pursuits, we offer a range of activities designed to complement academic learning and promote personal growth. These include:
Music: Our comprehensive programme enables students to excel in music across all our schools. We also have a fantastic Year 7 scheme, which allows students to learn an instrument of their choice.
Sport: With a brand-new Fitness Suite and 17-acre Sports Fields, our students have ample opportunities to excel in various sports. Our dedicated team has recently been nominated for two sports awards.
Round Square: As the only member of the international Round Square organisation in the Midlands, we offer global collaboration opportunities, including student exchanges and international projects. Learn more on page 30.
8billionideas: We partner with 8billionideas, whose exciting workshops encourage entrepreneurial and teamworking skills, unlocking our students’ potential and equipping them with vital skills for the future. Read more on page 31.

Inspiring excellence in all areas of learning, teaching, and student achievement
Academic Education offers exceptional learning opportunities. This includes our 4D Curriculum in the Prep School and over 30 exciting subjects in the Senior School, personalised pathways in Sixth Form, and research-based teaching and learning across all of our schools. This all leads to excellent academic outcomes – ensuring that our students are well-qualified and well-equipped for the future.
Locating wellbeing at the heart of our school
Positive Education brings the science of positive psychology to our Kingsley community. It focuses on specific skills that support boys and girls to build positive emotions, develop resilience, strengthen relationships, optimise strengths, promote mindfulness, and encourage a healthy lifestyle – underpinned by world-class pastoral care.
Facilitating experiential learning beyond the classroom
Discovery Education helps our boys and girls develop confidence in practical ways – promoting independence, compassion, creativity, leadership, and resilience. Our education extends far beyond the classroom door and, our students are constantly exposed to new ideas, activities, and opportunities. As the only Round Square school in the region, and as part of Warwick Schools Foundation, Kingsley boys and girls benefit from extensive opportunities for collaboration and growth. Whether it is through our world-class music programme, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, or Friday afternoon activities, students are constantly given the chance to discover new things to complement their classroom learning.
Cultivating the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create the future
Future-focused Education teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to thrive and make an impact on the world, now and in the future. It moves away from the silos of knowledge and exam-based, standardised learning, to an education that ensures our students are equipped with the skills and belief to change the world. Our exciting partnership with 8billionideas, alongside our own bespoke curriculum, and with the many opportunities we have being part of Warwick Schools Foundation, ensures our students have the skills and confidence to create their future and be a force for good in the world.
Underpinning our four educational pillars is our commitment to coaching, with empowering conversations that foster wellbeing, growth, and performance.
Situated in the picturesque and historic town of Royal Leamington Spa, our school occupies three beautiful Victorian buildings located near the top of the high street. Each building is carefully designed to cater to the diverse needs of our students, offering them a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters growth, creativity, and academic success. Whether in the Prep School, Senior School, or Sixth Form, students have access to a wide range of modern facilities that support both their academic and extracurricular pursuits.
Our school offers a fantastic range of facilities that set us apart from other local schools. We are proud to combine historic charm with modern convenience, ensuring that students have the best possible environment for learning and personal growth. This includes:
• Learning Resource Centre (LRC): a newly refurbished learning space designed to support research, study, and collaborative learning.
• ICT Suites: equipped with the latest technology, enabling students to develop their digital skills in a modern environment.
• Science Labs: fully equipped for a wide range of experiments and practical learning in biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Gym and Fitness Suite: a modern, state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest fitness technology, designed to cater to students’ physical and wellbeing needs.
• Art and Photography Studios: creative spaces where students can explore their artistic talents.
• Music Suite: a dedicated area for music lessons, practice, and performance.
• Design and Textiles Studios: specialist rooms that cater to creative and practical subjects.
Our Prep School provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for young learners. The facility is tailored specifically for our youngest pupils, featuring bright and spacious classrooms, a modern ICT suite, our exciting Innovation Station and Cookery Corner. Here, children can explore their creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and build strong foundations in key subjects.
“Our child loves the school’s homely feel and period features, alongside its state-of-the-art facilities. The new fitness suite is amazing! They also spend a lot of time in the Learning Resource Centre, which offers open areas for group work and cosy corners for private study.”

The heart of our school is the Senior School, based in the stunning Beauchamp Hall, constructed from beautiful limestone. This historic building underwent a significant refurbishment in 2024, with over £1 million invested in modernising key areas. The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) has been transformed into a state-of-the-art learning space, while the Fitness Suite and Garden have also been upgraded to provide students with enhanced facilities for physical education and relaxation. In addition to these improvements, students have access to fully-equipped science labs, art and drama studios, product design and textiles rooms, a music suite, and a range of modern teaching rooms that cater to their academic needs.
Our Sixth Form Centre offers a more mature and focused environment for students who are preparing for their next steps in education or their careers. The facilities here are designed to support independent learning and specialised study, with access to the same high-quality resources as the rest of the school. The Sixth Form also benefits from close proximity to the Senior School, allowing students to utilise the recently modernised facilities and participate fully in the school community.
In addition to our on-site facilities, our 17-acre sports fields provide ample space for physical education, games, and outdoor activities. This expansive area is a key feature of our school, and enables opportunities for students of all ages to stay active and healthy. Our younger students also benefit from our Forest School programme, which utilises this excellent outdoor space to encourage exploration and handson learning in a natural environment.
As part of Warwick Schools Foundation, our students have access to additional world-class facilities, including:
• Warwick School and King’s High School’s sports pitches: impressive grounds that host a variety of sports and competitions.
• Warwick School’s Bridge House Theatre and Warwick Hall: a state-of-the-art theatre and auditorium, offering students the chance to experience professional-level performances and events.
We take great pride in supporting students to access sources of wellbeing through our attentive approach; we seek to engage the whole community and to give students the skills, knowledge, and confidence to improve their wellbeing. Promoting a kind and supportive community is a key part of The Kingsley Way, making sure all our students feel safe, happy, and supported – both inside and outside of school.
We build positive connections and engender an environment built on mutual respect. Through our Positive Education programme, we work together to teach, learn, live and embed our core values. The programme is based on the acronym SOAR, which represents strengths; outcomes and optimism; awareness and attention; and resilience and relationships. Students and staff work together in weekly sessions to identify how we can optimise our wellbeing, both as individuals and as a community. The skills learned can be applied practically so that students’ lived experience reflects a genuine warm and enthusiastic culture, in which we notice early warning signs and act positively.
We have a wellbeing and pastoral team consisting of a Deputy Head and Assistant Head of Wellbeing and Pastoral, designated Heads of Year, and Form Tutors. Students always have someone to talk to. The Student Hub is a central source of information and support and, for those times when they need a little extra help, students can access the Reset Room where they can sit peacefully, with support if needed, until they feel ready to return to active learning. Staff are available throughout the day, and in addition to this, we have a dedicated school wellbeing counsellor and therapy dog who are on site three days a week to offer support and guidance to students via one-to-one sessions.
We promote high standards of appearance, behaviour, and attitudes in our community, and students are well supported through our pastoral systems. Students are encouraged to be at the centre of decision making through student leadership opportunities such as being a Form Prefect and Student Voice Prefect. Ambitions and goals are shared and mutually agreed, which promotes ownership and a sense of pride. Students act as mentors to new and younger students, providing an additional source of support. Developing students’ skills of emotional literacy and self-awareness, alongside providing clear ways to seek help builds resilience and optimistic, productive attitudes. We also work with parents to raise understanding and awareness and a community-wide commitment to our wellbeing goals.
“I like that Kingsley has an emphasis on celebrating everything about children, and that excellent pastoral care is high on the agenda.”

Pre-school Parent
offers a broad and enriching 4D curriculum, designed to foster academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth in every child. From the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 6, the curriculum is carefully structured to meet individual needs and encourage a love of learning.
The EYFS curriculum at Kingsley focuses on play-based learning, ensuring that young children develop key foundational skills in communication, language, literacy, and mathematics. Children are introduced to a variety of topics through a blend of child-initiated and teacher-led activities; promoting independence, curiosity, and exploration. Personal, social, and emotional development is central, with the aim of building confidence and resilience from an early age. The integration of Forest School sessions supports physical development and outdoor exploration, whilst nurturing a connection with nature. By the end of EYFS, our children are fiercely independent and fully prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
In Years 1 to 6, the Core Curriculum forms the backbone of academic learning. Subjects include English, mathematics, science, and computing, each taught by specialist teachers in small classes to ensure tailored learning. The school follows a structured progression in these subjects, aiming to provide pupils with a deep understanding of key concepts while also developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our 4D Curriculum is a bespoke educational approach that fosters children’s curiosity and creativity through in-depth thematic learning. It covers various subjects including humanities, creative arts, and scientific elements, whilst encouraging reflection and ensuring that knowledge is both relevant and purposeful.
There is a strong focus on future-readiness, with pupils exploring themes such as entrepreneurship and sustainability, diversity, and internationalism. The school’s affiliation with Round Square and 8billionideas offers additional opportunities for growth in these areas. The provision is further enhanced by Forest School and other opportunities to learn outside the classroom.
Languages (French and Spanish) play an important role at Kingsley. Pupils are immersed in a language-rich environment, learning through songs, stories, and interactive activities that build vocabulary and conversational skills. This focus on languages helps pupils to gain cultural awareness and appreciation for global diversity.
Creative arts in Prep is an integral part of the school’s curriculum, with art, drama, and music playing prominent roles. The curriculum encourages pupils to explore various mediums – including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital design –which help to develop visual literacy and creative expression. Drama builds confidence, self-expression, and public speaking skills through regular performances. The music programme is extensive, offering instrumental lessons, choir, string groups, drumming workshops, and opportunities to perform in school concerts both internally and at Warwick Schools Foundation’s Warwick campus. These subjects allow pupils to develop both technical skills and emotional expression; contributing to their overall development.
Physical education is highly valued in our curriculum, with an emphasis on both participation and performance. The school offers a diverse range of sports, including netball, rugby, hockey, swimming, athletics, cricket, and more; ensuring that every pupil has the chance to find an activity that they enjoy. Through competitive fixtures and events, pupils learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Kingsley’s commitment to sport extends beyond physical fitness, as we look to foster resilience and a positive attitude towards challenge.
Outdoor learning is integral to our curriculum; it provides pupils with hands-on experiences that build essential life skills. Weekly Forest School sessions allow children to explore nature; engage in activities like bushcraft, den building, and tree climbing; and foster teamwork, resilience, and creativity. This outdoor approach enhances both mental and physical wellbeing, while also encouraging independence and leadership. From Early Years through to Year 6, our pupils develop a deep connection to the natural world, which complements their classroom learning and personal growth.
In conclusion, The Kingsley Preparatory School provides a rich and balanced curriculum that supports the academic, creative, and physical development of each child. Through our dynamic provision, we nurture confident, well-rounded individuals who are ready to embrace future challenges.
The Kingsley Senior School offers a dynamic, nurturing environment where academic success is complemented by personal growth and wellbeing. With a strong focus on academic achievement, students study a broad curriculum that spans English, mathematics, the sciences, arts, humanities, and much more. All our learning is supported by expert teaching and personalised learning pathways. Beyond the classroom, a rich co-curricular programme encourages students to explore a variety of interests, from sports and creative arts to leadership opportunities.
We’re immensely proud of our excellent pastoral care; fostering a community where every student is known and valued. This personalised approach ensures that students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally. Academic staff work closely with students to guide their progress and personal development; offering advice and encouragement in equal measure.
A key aspect of our ethos is the development of confidence and independence. We provide numerous opportunities for students to take on leadership roles, whether that be through student council, sports teams, or involvement in school events. These roles help to build essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and responsibility.
There are many opportunities to engage in learning experiences outside of the classroom. We regularly arrange visits and field trips to extend students’ learning, as well as offering opportunities to travel abroad. Our Round Square membership brings many opportunities for students to connect and collaborate with students in other countries, helping them to better understand their place in the world as global citizens. We have an extensive co-curricular offering, and lots of our students study for LAMDA and music examinations.
We also place a strong emphasis on preparing students for life beyond school. Careers advice, university guidance, and skills development are integral to the curriculum; ensuring that students are well-equipped for further education. Our students benefit from being part of Warwick Schools Foundation, which provides additional resources and opportunities for collaboration with Warwick School and King’s High School.
In all areas, we aim to instil a lifelong love of learning, resilience, and a sense of responsibility in our students. By the time students move on to Sixth Form, they are not only academically prepared, but confident, compassionate individuals who are ready to make a positive impact on the world around them.
In summary, we are more than just a place of academic learning – we are a community where students are empowered to grow into well-rounded, confident individuals; ready to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
“Students enjoy learning, while pursuing excellence and fulfilling their academic potential.”
The curriculum at Kingsley is structured to maximise progress and make our students futureready, building on each student’s prior learning, to encourage creativity, intellectual curiosity, and independence.

We follow a wide and varied curriculum that inspires students to challenge themselves in a range of disciplines, including science, technology, creative arts, humanities, performing arts, and modern foreign languages. Alongside the full range of academic subjects, an extended curriculum looks to incorporate Discovery and Future-focused Education. This includes dedicated lessons in leadership, teamwork, creativity, Artificial Intelligence, entrepreneurship and outdoor education, all of which are vital elements to a successful curriculum fit for the future. Our Round Square membership enables us to fully develop these elements, through collaboration with a range of schools across the globe in both virtual and in-person projects.
This is supplemented by a wide and varied programme in PE and games, with all students having a games afternoon and a core PE lesson, in addition to a range of available co-curricular offerings. At GCSE, our curriculum provides opportunities for students to study examinations in the core subjects of English, mathematics and the three separate Sciences, as well as further options in a wide range of GCSEs and vocational qualifications. I joined Kingsley Prep in September 2024 and it’s been fabulous! I’m enjoying getting to do more sport, and the teachers and children are all so nice. I’ve already made some great friends.
For our 4D Curriculum topic, we’ve been learning all about North and South America.
One of the most interesting things we learned about was an American architect called Frank Lloyd Wright, who designed amazing buildings in the 1950s. He believed in something called organic architecture, which means designing buildings that fit into their surroundings. It made me realise how much time and effort goes into making houses and other buildings, and that well-designed places can make people happy. We even got to make models of some of his buildings using recycled materials, which was really fun.
One of my favourite Enrichment sessions is Cardio Club. Sometimes we go to the new Fitness Suite in Senior School, where we use cardio equipment like treadmills and bikes, and we learn how to use them safely.
I’m a member of Pupil Voice, where we get to suggest ideas for improving the Prep School. We’re planning some changes to the playground to add more storage for bikes and scooters. We hope this will encourage more people to ride to school.
At the start of term, we had an assembly about the Round Square Heroes. The teachers dressed up as different heroes – it was hilarious! We were asked to think about which hero we’re most like. I think I’m like Tenacious Tino because if I start something, I don’t give up until I’ve finished.
I’m so glad I joined Kingsley. I look forward to school every day – it’s always so much fun!
I joined Kingsley at the start of Year 7. I was nervous on my first day because I I didn’t know anyone, but the school has a welcoming atmosphere and an amazing sense of community. If I was lost or didn’t know what to do, there was always someone I could ask.
Having been at Kingsley for over a year now, we’re really getting to know our teachers and they know us – our strengths and how we learn. This year, we’re going deeper into some of the topics we covered in Year 7, which I’m enjoying. I have two form tutors, who are both so nice. We see them at the start of the day and they always show an interest in what we’re doing. Our form groups have changed this year, which has encouraged us to spend time with different people. I have some close friends, but everyone is friends with everyone in a small school like Kingsley.
Being happy at school is so important because you can then put all of your efforts into your learning. Our teachers find a really good balance between supporting us and helping us to become more independent. We’re allowed to figure things out for ourselves, but they take the time to help you if you’re finding something difficult.
We have PE lessons every week, which help us unwind and stay physically fit. Students who want to join school teams are encouraged to, but those who don’t still feel included. The teachers connect with us all and really care about our wellbeing.
Being at Kingsley has taught me a lot – I’ve done new things and met new people, and I love being part of such a close-knit community.
One thing I really appreciate about Kingsley is the small class sizes. With fewer distractions, everyone is more focused and it’s easier to participate in class discussions. In addition to this, many of my teachers have known me since Year 7, so they understand how to best guide and support me.
I genuinely enjoy all my subjects, but art and geography stand out as two of my favourites. Last year, we went on a geography field trip and I loved focusing on the practical side of the subject. I also enjoy the sciences, which I find both challenging and rewarding. Those of us taking Spanish GCSE are heading to Barcelona this year. We’ll be visiting a school and giving a presentation about Kingsley and Leamington – entirely in Spanish!
Managing the workload for GCSEs can be tough, but I try to break down challenging topics into smaller, more manageable chunks. I use a daily planner, which helps me to stay organised. I like to find a quiet space to study, and the newly refurbished LRC is perfect for this. I also think it’s important to look after yourself during stressful times, so I take breaks, have early nights, and meditate. Outside of academics, I dance and play on the school hockey team, which is great for both my physical and mental health. We tend to play matches during our PE lessons, so it doesn’t take away from my evenings or weekends.
Looking to the future, I definitely want to take A-levels after my GCSEs. I’m considering several career paths, including architecture, dentistry, and veterinary science. I’m also interested in environmentalism and law, so I’m keeping my options open. Above all, I want to pursue something I enjoy!
I have been at Kingsley since Year 7 and, from the start, I loved the school – from the small class sizes, to the friendships I made, and the wide range of experiences. I was really pleased with my GCSE results, and this gave me the confidence to continue my studies at The Kingsley Sixth Form.
I’m currently taking geography, politics, and Spanish at A-level, and I’m enjoying all three subjects. While all of my teachers were fantastic in Senior School, the teachers of these subjects particularly inspired me. They know me well, understand how I work best and are always approachable.
The teaching in Sixth Form is tailored to individual learning styles, which is one of the big advantages of having small class sizes. Lessons are varied, and there are plenty of extracurricular opportunities to enrich our learning.
The Sixth Form provides a lot of support in helping us plan for our futures. Last year, we attended a talk about identifying our strengths and exploring different career options. We’ve also had the chance to meet alumni and hear about their experiences after leaving Kingsley. The school’s Futures Fair, which I attended two years running, was a fantastic way to explore various pathways.
Before choosing my A-levels, I considered several career paths, including becoming a therapist or a midwife. However, my current plan is to pursue a degree in international relations and possibly work in the civil or diplomatic service, the UN, or NATO. Whatever path I choose, I know I want to help people – whether on an individual level or on a larger scale. That’s my motivation – to make a difference in the world.
At The Kingsley School, students have countless opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom.
Our extensive lunchtime and after-school programme offers over 60 clubs each week, including sports, music, drama, and wellbeing activities. Students can explore new interests or deepen their skills, with activities catering to different year groups and helping to foster community and collaboration across the school.
We are proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award from Bronze to Gold, with students completing sections in skills, volunteering, physical activities, and expeditions. Recent adventures took place in the Peak District and Rutland Water, challenging students to push their limits and grow in confidence.
Students in Years 7 and 8 take our new Pathfinder lessons, including outdoor education and future skills. For Years 9 to 13, the Friday Afternoon Activity Programme offers exciting options such as volunteering, new academic subjects, wellbeing, indoor climbing, model united nations, and multiple sporting opportunities in partnership with King’s High School and Warwick School.
Trips and visits are an integral part of school life, from local excursions to international adventures. Geography-led trips to places such as Norway and Iceland are awe-inspiring, while language immersions and Round Square conferences offer global travel opportunities. Annual ski trips and various day trips enhance the educational experience with hands-on learning and cultural exposure.
“After leaving Norway, I realised how much I had really learned. I enjoyed learning about a different way of life, surrounded by the irresistible and natural environment Norway is so famously known for. It made me reflect on life as a whole and how nature can be so vast and beautiful.”
Helena – Senior School Student
We are proud to be a member of Round Square, a global network of schools committed to holistic education, underpinned by six IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. These IDEALS encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of different cultures, work collaboratively, and become active global citizens. By participating in Round Square events, conferences, and exchanges, Kingsley students are provided with opportunities to experience international travel, engage in social impact projects, and challenge themselves through personal development initiatives; fostering skills that prepare them for a dynamic world.
“Kingsley partners with an organisation called 8billionideas, whose aim is to equip young people with the skills to change the world. Through various enterprise days, we’ve developed our problem-solving
and team-working skills, giving us the chance to apply what we’ve learned to real-world scenarios. It’s another example of the opportunities we get at Kingsley to think beyond the classroom.”
Our partnership with 8billionideas is designed to inspire young minds to bring their creative ideas to life. This collaboration equips students with entrepreneurial skills and innovative thinking; teaching them how to identify opportunities, create solutions, and pursue their passions. Through engaging workshops, Kingsley students explore real-world problemsolving; developing the mindset to see challenges as opportunities. By nurturing creativity and ambition, we encourage students to envision their futures with confidence; providing the tools and resources to turn their dreams into actionable projects and contribute positively to society.
Sport and physical education are a key part of life at Kingsley; each child is encouraged to achieve their personal best. We recognise that mental and physical fitness go handin-hand to develop wellbeing and academic potential.
We have excellent sporting facilities and dedicated, enthusiastic staff. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the wide range of sports and activities on offer. We are very proud of our young athletes, who compete at all levels, including in national competitions across a range of sports, such as equestrian, skiing, football, netball, and much more.
We believe that taking part in sport fosters a healthy competitiveness, but also cooperation, as students support their houses or teams in the fixtures and events that take place throughout the year.
Our Talented Athlete Programme aims to support our top performers to achieve their absolute best. The programme is designed to encourage sporting excellence by providing access to regular one-to-one sports mentorship, termly workshops, sports trips, academic and scholarship support, and strength and conditioning training.
We understand the pressures of trying to train, compete and balance academic studies. The Talented Athlete Programme provides the stretch and challenge for students to achieve their sporting goals, while also providing tailored academic support.
Our sporting facilities rank among the finest in the country. The Fitness Suite is a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest fitness technology to support students’ physical and wellbeing needs.
“The Sport here is amazing; the teachers are so encouraging and they really help you. Even if you aren’t really that sporty, they encourage you to try new things and grow.”
Angie – Senior School Student
We are also fortunate to own a 17-acre sports field, comprising a pavilion, football pitches, five netball courts, six tennis courts, and five rounders pitches. There is provision for a range of athletics including shot, javelin, and discus.
As part of Warwick Schools Foundation, our students benefit from additional world-class facilities. This includes access to Warwick and King’s High School’s sports pitches, where impressive grounds host a wide range of sports and competitions; enhancing their sporting experience further.
“Pupils of all ages have an excellent understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy body and of the role that sport and exercise play on healthy lifestyles.”
By offering a diverse and inclusive musical programme, we provide an ideal platform to foster a real love of music. This allows all of our students the chance to explore and develop their talents; laying the foundation for both personal enjoyment and lifelong learning.
Every student in Year 7 is given the opportunity to learn an instrument such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, or trombone through the Foundation-wide instrumental scheme, with instruments provided free of charge for a year, as part of the curriculum.
We offer a rich variety of musical ensembles, including choirs, a string orchestra and swing band, and smaller groups including a recorder consort and flute choir. Whether students are experienced musicians or just beginning their musical journey, they are encouraged to join these groups and develop their talents both inside and outside the classroom.
Performances and concerts are a highlight of Kingsley’s musical life. Individual soloists and ensembles perform regularly at school events and competitions, with some groups even touring nationally. This gives students the invaluable experience of performing in front of live audiences; further enhancing their musical abilities and confidence.
As part of Warwick Schools Foundation, our students can also join one of the Foundation ensembles, which combine students from Kingsley with like-minded students from the other Foundation schools. These include:
•Foundation Symphony Orchestra
•Foundation Chamber Choir
•Foundation String Ensemble
•Foundation Wind Orchestra
Starting from the 2024-25 academic year, we are also proud to offer the Advanced Musicianship Programme (AMP) for our students. Our Advanced Musicianship Programme encourages our most talented musicians to reach their full potential, and explores a huge range of advanced musical topics. Ultimately, our aim is to support our students to progress into Further Education and career pathways in music.

We take great pride in our vibrant and fun drama department. All students are encouraged to delve into the world of speech and drama, developing key skills such as communication, and resilience.
Through our curriculum-based and co-curricular drama activities, we offer students rich opportunities to immerse themselves fully in the performing arts. This reflects our commitment to nurturing creativity and self-expression, providing a supportive platform where students can build confidence and explore their unique voices.
From Early Years through to Key Stage 5, our drama curriculum is designed to inspire and develop talent. Regular performances, such as GCSE and A-level performance evenings, allow our students to showcase their skills and achievements. We believe that working in ensembles not only enhances learning but also instils a strong sense of teamwork and discipline, essential qualities for success in all areas of life. Our students take pride in their efforts and have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and recognition for their dedication through regular assessments and performances.
Additionally, we are pleased to have access to exceptional performance facilities, including the Bridge House Theatre, shared with Foundation schools. This enhances our students’ learning experience, offering a professional space where they can bring their talents to life in front of live audiences. The chance to perform in a fully-equipped theatre setting further inspires our students, enriching their educational journey and fostering a passion for the performing arts that will serve them well into the future.
“I never would have expected that I would have the confidence to paint myself green and perform as Shrek. But that is what studying drama at Kingsley has done for me. Our wonderful head of Drama, Mrs Smith makes drama joyous as she enables and encourages passion for the Arts.”
